Tommy Armour Morph Irons Features:

New Morph Irons from Tommy Armour are the first production irons to incorporate three unique head designs with three proprietary Rifle Flighted shaft technologies. In long irons (2,3,4,5), Morphs feature a two piece deep cavity design with the center of gravity moved back in the irons to help golfers hit higher, straighter shots with greater consistency. Long irons are matched with High Lanuch Rifle Shafts to assist in higher trajectories and tighter shot dispesion. Mid irons (6,7, and 8) feature a mid-cavity design and are matched with Mid Lanch Rifle Shaft for greater control and optimum spin on approach shots. In short irons (9,PW,SW), clubheads are blade like with emphasis on feel and finesse. All heads are made of 431 stainless steel with three proprietary Rifle Flighted shaft flex patterns developed for the company by Royal Precision. Morph irons are available in regular and stiff flexes in men's right hand and left hand models, feature Tommy Armour Crossline grips by Lamkin.

I just bought it. Played only 1 round with it. So far, the clubs feel a bit clunky. Top line is quite thick and the sweetspot, despite the huge size of the club head, seems very small. On center feel is about average but very easy to miss the sweet spot. Trajectory control is simply excellent but short irons feel somwhat stiff. (not heavy but just stiff) I have the Rifle 5.0 and it seems to play "firm" for the most part but 9 and P iron seems very stiff. The offset seems just right and distances are equally spaced apart between different clubs.

I'll report again after another couple of rounds.

My second report after 3rd round of golf with this set. I'm hitting the irons better but still missing the sweet spot on the long irons. 3, 4 and 5 are pretty tough. I'd say the good shot to bad shot ratio is about 3 to 1. Trajectory control is still excellent. Must be due to the Rifle shafts. Even when I miss, I still get pretty good flight out these irons. Shot dispersion was also better than average. A little left or a little right. Nothing too drastic. I like the mid irons the best. 6 7 and 8 are great to hit and don't feel so klunky. Coming from Hogan CFT's, I really liike the fact that these irons don't balloon like the CFTs.

On center feel isn't as good as say MX-23s but so long as I hit the sweet spot I just get a low volume "thwack" sound. It's bit different than the "click" I used to hear from Hogan CFTs. Forged irons make this interesting "tap" sound that seems to linger but these are obvisouly not forged and don't have that, oh shall we say, "butter" feeling.

9 and pitching wedge supposed to be the money clubs but I'm having a tough time shaping shots with it. Tried the knock downs a couple of time with mixed results. Heavy fade and heavy pull shot work OK but didn't have a nice trajectory. Finesse shot with only about 50% of my swing power seemed a bit hard to control (I had the same problems with Hogan CFT's, by the way).

The shafts on the short irons still seem a little too stiff. I'm going to have to get the shaft checked out.

Otherwise, not too bad overall. I think the shafts alone are worth about $120 and I only paid $185 total on E-bay. When I get tired of these irons, I'll just pull the shafts out and sell them on E-bay.
