Titleist PT reshafting

i want to reshaft my trusty PT bore-through, but i am skeptical as what will happen to the wooden dowel when the shaft is pulled. will it come out with the shaft or will it stay in? is reshafting a problem? any help would be appreciated!

i sent mine to the local shop and should be done wed.

i bought mine used like 9.5 out of 10 and it has a penley in it would have kept it if it wasent a regular shaft

your problem mite be the bore size pts are a .294 and have to special order a steel shaft for it

they thought mine was drilled to a .335 cuz some how the penley was .335 and the normal size for the pt is .294 i hope mine was .335 or i have to wait 2 weeks for the .294 steel shaft to come in

most models came with a hickory plug in the bore-through for better feel

i dont know if the wood has anything to do with it, but i like how mine feels right now and i hope i can keep it in.

i dont think they would keep it in i think it would get messed up in the process of taking the shaft out

The dowel is on the inside of the shaft. It acts as a bore thru plug. When the shaft is pulled the plug will go with it . The next step would be to enlarge the bore at the tip , the tip diameter is .294 so that is not that much material to remove. The walls are fairly thick so that is not a problem. I have done about 10 of these and they are very easy if you got the right equipment. :D :)

o yea, now looking at it that makes sense. but I dont want to put in a graphite shaft, just another flex of a steel shaft, so do I need to enlarge the bore-through? now I think my problem is getting the wood out of the old steel shaft and putting it in the new one. :D
