Return from Palm Springs golf trip update...

Myself and 7 other guys went to Palm Springs for our annual golf trip. All I can say about Palm Springs is WOW! What a place! I've been to Florida, Myrtle Beach and other places but Palm Springs blows everywhere else that I've played out of the water. Literally, there's no comparison. The conditions of the courses were the absolute best that I've ever played.

 

We were'nt playing primo courses either. We were playing the average, run of the mill, Palm Springs courses. Some of the courses off the top of my head were: Cimmaron-Boulder, Mesquite CC, Indian Springs CC, Desert Dunes GC, Desert Princess CC, Indian Canyons CC and Escena CC.

 

The worst one that we played was Desert Dunes GC. It was a links style golf course. While the condition of the course was very nice, the golf course itself just didn't do anything for me.

 

The other courses were the types of courses that wound through either the communities that were built around the courses or through the landscape. I liked both types of courses. The prices weren't too expensive either. The price range was from $70 to $110.

 

We go on our golf trip pretty much the same time every year, the first week of Feb. Two years ago we went to San Diego and last year it was Hawaii. I didn't go with them then. Too far and too expensive for me.

 

Everyone enjoyed Palm Springs so much that it was decided about half-way through the trip that we would come back again next year and do it again. If you haven't been to Palm Springs and wonder what it's like, trust me, you'll love it even if you don't go there to play golf!

 

The only down side to our trip is our plane was late taking off from the Palm Springs airport because of an electrical problem and we were there long enough to miss our connecting flight in Salt Lake City. While in Salt lake City, it was decided that we should find another flight into Philly so we could beat the storm that was blowing in and we flew to Hot-lanta and got a flight into Philly through US Airways.

 

We beat the storm but we also left our golf clubs and suitcases somewhere in between. It seems that they weren't changed over to the US Airways flight and remained on the Delta flight. We still haven't heard from them.. At least there's a foot or more of snow on the ground now and there's no chance that I'll be able to use them for a looong time.

 

Anyway, that's our annual golf trip in a nutshell. Simp

Sounds awesome! I just saw "The Wandering Golfer" episode where Chad visits Palm Springs, and added it to my must-visit list. I have a friend who lives in SoCal and she tells me that Palm Springs is incredible.

 

You live in Philly? I live in Conshohocken! Looks like we won't be playing golf for quite awhile, eh?

It just doesn't get any better than Palm Springs as far as golf in concerned. Actually, I live over the river in Central NJ, in Mercer County. After seeing Palm Springs, I'm getting really sick of NJ :D. Simp

I hear you. I played Ko Olina in Hawai'i in November (pitbull has some pics posted) and I didn't want to leave. Snow was fun when I was a kid. Not so much now that I'm in my 30's!

I lived in palm desert, Ca just across the way from ps. In fact i went to ps high school you prob saw it it's right next to mesquite. You gotta play the courses in la quinta when u go there. they're top of the line. hey simp where in jersey do u live???

Well, we're definitely going back next Feb. so I'm sure we'll play some different courses. I live in Mercer County, in Central Jersey. A few miles outside of Trenton. I guess it's not a bad place to live but after seeing the Palm Springs area.... :D. Simp
