Awesome looking stick man.

Somebody remind me what the difference is between the 612 and the 615?

Big difference..

a952ded8-39dc-4e42-a575-4ab9d10e0b22.jpg

Actually there’s quite a few differences.

615 has a bigger footprint than the 612.

615 has a thicker top line.

612 has a 2* high toe

Heel is sloped much steeper on the 612, flatter in the 615

Standard plumbers neck offset might be different. Definitely full shaft on the 615. Might be 3/4 shaft in the 612.

Neck is positioned closer to the face in the 612. Sits back further on the 615. Because of this the parallel bend in the plumbers neck is longer on the 615.

These two are very different looking at address IMO.

BOOM - congrats that is a very nice DH89. Let us know how it rolls.

Though much is taken much abides;
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven, that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.

Great looking....Oil Can or Raw? Thinking Oil Can, but maybe I'm wrong.

A few shots of my baby

I am not positive of the finish. I'm sure many of you have a better idea than I do what it is. It's carbon steel.

The back story on this putter is: a few years ago a buddy was on vacation and since he was in the neighborhood he decided to stop by Byron's shop. He got to talk with Byron and look around, and he left that day with this putter. Nice vacation souvenir! He showed it to me when he returned from vacation; I really liked it and told him that I'd be interested if he ever decided to part with it. That day came last week. I think it looks better in person than in the pics. It feels great!!!

2 of my Byrons.

The first is a copper wide body hand made with a no offset single bend shaft. I believe head is about 375g. This one I game off and on.

The second one is a Copper plated 615 w a crazy patina finish on it. This has become my son's gamer. I let him pick just about any putter in my collection and he picked this one. He putts very well with it.

He is only 8 (almost 9) and he already knows what the good putters are. Hahaha

He just made his first hole in one last week which I still can't believe. His only disappointment is he can't find aftermarket shafts that fit his US Kids clubs........

LMFAO, thats unreal. Hopefully you were there when it happened, cuz that's a memory you'll never forget. Trying to find aftermarket shafts for his US Kids clubs means he's definitely DEEP into golf, also the equipment game, and that's fun.

Damn almost 9? I've spent waaaay to much time on this site, for some reason I seem to remember you posting about him being born on this site in a Scratch thread (maybe not you but thought it was you).

Regardless I'm 37, and still prefer to play with my old man vs anyone. Sounds like your boy really enjoys the game and that's awesome, must be such a fun time.

Ok, sorry guys to derail this BM thread, back to some sick putter pics.

I was there thankfully I really still can't believe it almost a week later! I was yelling get in the hole but I didn't really think it would!

The after market shaft thing was kind of a joke though he does ask about it as he watches me reshaft my clubs all the time lol. He knows WAY too much about golf equipment for almost 9. And yes time flies I can't believe how big he is! I love playing w my dad too and now there is nothing better than a group w my dad and son in it.

How does BM and other makers regulate head weight? Do they just shave down the face thinner to achieve lighter weights? Is it possible for the weight to be lost elsewhere?

What's with all the Byrons up on ebay for over $2k? Appears to be a seller from Japan and they're GSS putters, but that seems to be way above the market price.

some people are hoping to take advantage of a non existent market. everyone thinks what they have is worth more then it is.

Typically Byron will grind the sole to reduce weight.
