e36er...I knew you liked morgans, but didn't know you had that selection. Long necks? Are they face balanced or just shy of FB? Which one you rolling most?

Oh yeah, i play faceblanced putters only!

i rotate some CT's around but really kept these byrons in my closet..cuz they are just too nice to view lol

all four byron long necks are very very close to facebalanced if not perfect.

used to own a 009m long neck and still have a CT np2 long neck which had/have the same length of neck but it had/has more toe hang than these Byrons.

Byron did very good job on these for sure.

Received a few Pm's for detail of putters so I might as well just post them here if anyone is curious.

2. Mystic Pearl 612 Long Neck SSS

I really love how this stick turned out.

a few of mine.

Hello there. It looks like one of those has the Deep Water finish. I'm about to order one, but I'm not sure about it. Does the Deep Water finish have a brownish shade to it? Or it is just pure black. Thanks!

It's black. See my avatar <====.

Picked up this DH89 a while back, I love it, it just may not love me back like I wish it would...LOL Feel is great, and looks fantastic. Trying to salvage a relationship with it but not sure it's going to stay. I sure do like looking at it though!!!

What color paintfill is that?

If you're talking about mine above, it's Tiffany blue. The putter has kind of a chocolate brown PVD finish which looks really sleek. It's up for sale but I think I am going to keep it...

Here it is, I'll upload a pic of the face tomorrow, the one I took tonight was a bit blurred. I love the putter with 2 exceptions, the 335G on the sole was supposed to be stamped on the heel, but isn't a place BM stamps and I'm pretty sure I made a request to just leave it out(no huge deal). The other, the face's flycut milling is nice, but I was hoping it would match my previous 615, it's much lighter/narrower. Other than that, it's great, and you'd never guess it only weighs 335g!

He included some Tiffany 'Byron & Co' shaft band stickers, and I'm half-tempted to change the paint fill to match.

It's pretty busy, but that's my style. And for a 'tour' level putter I pulled out all the stops.

I'm convinced that once you've got your foot in the door with BM, future orders get filled FAST! 2nd putter came in 8-9 days, and this 3rd one above came in about 9 from the order confirmation date. Stainless types w/o fancy colored finishes help I'm sure, but he certainly treats return customers very well.

After putting really well for most of the summer with a cheap Odyssey Tank Cruiser counterbalanced putter, some recent struggles gave me an excuse to look around at some other options, and I came across this beauty. B-17 in carbon with blue oil finish and a pipe neck that makes it pretty close to face balanced. It has maybe 10 degrees of toe hang. Initial results have been pretty good. I'm loving a return to a putter that feels so great.

I love that putter if you ever consider loosing it hit me up. BB

I’m still really liking it, so don’t count on it any time soon, but I do have something of a history of falling in and out of love with putters.

how come there is no weld mark for long neck putter?

Because they are milling it from a solid block of steel. That's how it should be done.

Man, loving these long neck's posted on this page. I'd sure love to roll a byron someday. Hard to commit $500-1200 on a putter without ever seeing one/putting with one in person first.

This was just answered, I believe, but the long necks aren't milled as one piece; Byron cuts a standard PN part way up the neck and welds another PN at the cut, then cleans up the weld. That's why there isn't a bead at the neck/head point.

A hidden weld half way up the neck? I respect your answer but disagree.

There are multiple ways to do it. I think Lajosi mills the long necks as one piece then welds them. To my point, however, here is an example from PT in which Steve (Z-Man), one of Byron's sales reps, answers the same question re: a 615 long neck. The weld along the neck is not identifiable in the final product:

Sorry but it’s true. I’ve discussed this with Byron personally.

It is most definitely a hidden weld, he told me so himself. The blocks of steel produce 2 putters, both of which are std length necks. He cuts the original towards the hosel cup and has separate machined necks to weld them longer. I can feel the slight change with my fingers, as I move them across the middle.

BTW, it's awesome! This is every bit as good and possibly better than the Tei 3 that I've been gaming to end the season. The lighter weight and face-balance is superb for my feel/stroke.

Fair point here--I amend my original statement as such: not identifiable to the naked eye.

BTW, Princey...your long neck 89 is a beauty. Has me considering asking byron to shave some blubber from my 612 and 89 :)
