wedge shafts??

I have a set of Srixon I-302 with Rifle 6.0 in them and I love the feel of this club. I also have Cleveland 588 in 51,56,60 with the stock stiff shaft, which I beleive is a DG. Can I put Rifles in my wdges and if so which ones and what flex?

It all depends on what you are looking to achieve feel wise.

if you want to duplicate what you have with your I302 PW then I would order some Rifle 6.0 Wedge shafts. If you want a livelier feel than I would try a rifle 5.0 wedge shaft.

 

Your current wedge shafts are pretty stout, they are DGS400 wedge shafts. DG will produce a lower trajectory compared to the rifles. If you like the trajectory you’re getting but want to go livelier than I would try a DGS200 wedge shaft.

 

Really it all comes down to what feel right and the end result of the shot.

goddo has some good advice, but i want to throw another option out there

 

you have to think what kind of swing you are going to be using with each club. if you are going to be making more full swings than little chips, you want stiffness, but if you only doing 1/2 swings and less you want something less stiff.

 

one option is to go 6.0 in your 51*, 5.5 in your 56* and maybe a rifle spinner 5.5 in your 60*. this is assuming you make a lot of full shots with your 51*, that you make a few full shots, but a lot of hlf shots and chips with your 56*, and that your 60* is for half shots, and flops and that you want it to get up quickly and with a lot of spin.
