UST Proforce V2 75g Shaft question

65 gram to 75 gram difference

My driver is currently shafted with a stiff Grafalloy Blue. This shaft has generally worked very well for me, as I have a high swing speed and abrupt transition. The low torque is key here.

I have heard wonderful things about the new UST Proforce V2 Shaft and am looking into possibly reshafting my driver. I'm interested in the 75g model specifically, since it offers evern lower torque than the Grafalloy Blue. I have 2 primary questions:

1) What performance differences will I see between the grafalloy shaft and this one?
2) What can I expect switching to a slightly heavier shaft (65g to 75g)?

Actually I was in the very same situation as you are.

 

I used to play the blue x in a ping proto drive of mine. I now play the V2 75 X in a R5 TP. Here's what I have found. The blue has a little bit of a stiffer feeling overall, even though they cpm out exactly on mine, because of the difference in characteristics of the shaft. I find that the blue had a bit more of a boardy feel with a much stiffer tip than the V2, which causes the ballflight to be a little higher. However the spin is about the same in my case. The V2 and the blue have almost identical torque with the V2 being a little bit lower at 2.2 instead of 2.8 but you cant really feel too much of a difference. They both have similar control for me. I found no problem switching weights from 65 to 75. Granted this switch was back more toward what i had been playing for a while, i had been using a 100 gram shaft so it wasnt a big deal to o back up to 75. You can expect a slightly higher, lower spinning, more controlled ballflight outta the V2 than the blue.
