Hello everybody...

My wife and I will be visiting Phoenix area towards the end of January...

We are considering moving out there for my wife's health...

I will be visiting as many facilities as possible to hand out my resume...

Any recommendations on facilities in the general Phoenix area?

Any recommendations on where to stay for a week while we're out there?

Mike you may want to look at Troon golf, huge managment company with a ton of high end courses here in town. There really is too many courses to list, but the better two managment companies that run some great courses are going to be Troon(Troon North, Kierland, Ocotillo, Talking Stick, to name a few) and OB sports (We Ko Pa, Longbow, Eagle Mountain). there are others like In Celebration of Golf, Eagle Golf Management and Scottsdale Golf Group (Legend Trail). Those would all be a decent place to start your search. Best of luck. Its hard not to enjoy it here in the Phx area.

The above poster has good suggestions... both are great companies.

 

A fair warning... do not go anywhere near a course that is run by SunCor Golf (Sunridge Canyon, Sanctuary are two in the Scottsdale area).

 

Troon does a great job.. I can't think of one of their courses that isn't just superb. Eagle Mountain is well run with very friendly people, and a pretty decent course and practice area to go along with it. We Ko Pa might be the best public course in the Phoenix area.

Just got back from Phoenix...

 

Took a lesson from Mr. Ed Oldfield Sr...

 

Met Mr. Mahoney at Troon North...

 

Dropped off my resume at several facilities...

 

Went to the FBR on Monday, visitied the Nike Tour Van, thanks Rob...

 

Had a great time...

 

Any other suggestions for courses that have great teaching programs, let me know...

Have you looked into the Legacy Golf resort? Its the home of Vision 54 (Pia Nillson and Lynn Marriott). The Legacy has a great facility and a superb course.

I have found out that the Phoenix area is the most saturated area for PGA Professionals...

 

Have heard of stories of head golf professionals with years of experience taking outdoor service positions just to get their foot in the door...

 

We will see what happens!
