I love it! I know you hear all of the time, someone getting a new stick and saying that they got an additional 25 yards out of it etc. but in my case, I did manage 20 extra but that is hitting balls previously in the summer and this driver I've only hit this winter (warmest temperature was about 45*). I am seriously pumped up about seeing how it performs when it gets warmer.

I truly think the reasons for the longer driver distance was partially due to the head -- about 25%, about 35% the shaft and 40% getting the thing fitted out to my swing.

I really don't think that you can go wrong with the head. The shaft was kind of an iffy thing because I come down fairly straight up and down do the fitter wanted to go with a higher kickpoint shaft (hence the Fujikura Pro-95) but the scary part was that on my old TM 580 with it's MAS 60 shaft, if I really swung out of my shoes, I could manage about 111 mph at contact. Because of the heavier weight, the fitter figured that my swing speed would slow down a little bit and because of a major back injury I have that causes some swing problem with the onset of fatigue, he elected to go to the Stiff shaft instead of the X-Stiff. He said that he could recommend the Stiff Pro95 up to about 108 mph.

He gets the materials gathered and he lets me test hit the club and now all of a sudden, I am swinging at 117 mph. ???????????? I get my old driver and I am swinging my old clubhead speed of 107 mph. We are more confused. A shot in the dark, we put the radar gun receiver up on a stand (several thick books) and about a foot in front of the ball (and to the side). I swing again and now I am getting about 115 mph. The only thing we could figure is that the MAS60 shaft was so weak that it was lagging behind in my swing and wasn't springing forward to its full potential until well after it made contact with the ball (and incidentally, well after the head passed by the sensor area of the radar gun). Thus when the receiver was placed further forward on the swing path, it was enough time to allow the head to spring forward and give a better indication of max clubhead speed. That speed was the max POTENTIAL! Effectively I was killing off and not using about 10 MPH in potential force which could be placed into the ball and allow further drives. With the club fitting of the KZG, the potential was exhausted right at the point that I made contact with the ball so every bit of speed that I could get was being dumped at the moment of contact -- the ideal situation.

Just for giggles, I swung out of my shoes with the KZG for five swings and I managed a 124, 121, 119, 125 and 120 mph swing speed respectively. If his launch monitor was to be believed, it translated into a 245 yard drive -- about 325 yards of in the air flight if you take into account the dead right slice (hehe) that it caused!

Now I can swing a little bit harder than what would be termed 'easy' and I can nail it right out there.

As I said, I can't wait until it gets warmer out. I really want to see what this baby can do! ;)

I love the Knife. When I first bought it, I bought it based on feel of how it hit inside a net. The first time outside and I was slicing it big time. I got to checking other clubs and I was doing the same there as well. Really upsetting to be honest. I finally figured it out that my left hand grip was weak and as I swung I opened the face -- hence, the slice.

I finally got that problem set and now it hit real nice out to about 205 (hard to tell exactly how far it goes in that I was hitting range balls that were cold and old).

I am looking for the 7, 9, and 11 models now. I am heading out to the course for the first time tomorrow so I hope to have a report on how it hits then.

Cheers,

Warren
