2006-02-22 - Rifle® Dominates Top 25 World Golf Ranking

Recommended Posts

TORRINGTON, Conn. — Premium Rifle steel shafts are often considered the world’s most advanced steel shafts, and they are apparently the preferred choice among the world’s Top 25 players. According to the World Golf Ranking on 16 February 2006, Rifle shafts designed and manufactured by Royal Precision are the clear favorite, with 13 of the World’s Top 25 Ranked golfers playing Rifle. Among the remaining Top 25 players, only eight played steel shafts from Rifle’s closest competitor and two played a third steel brand, while two golfers played graphite shafts in their irons.

“With the world’s best players choosing to play Rifle steel shafts by a 3:2 margin over the nearest competitor, this is an incredible testimonial to the quality and performance of Rifle shafts,” says Ray Lucas, senior vice president of sales and marketing for Royal Precision. “Royal Precision and our Rifle-branded steel shafts have achieved unparalleled success as the leading premium steel shafts on the PGA Tour, and we continue to deliver consistent performances and victories for the best players in the world year after year.”

Lucas explains that, unlike other steel shafts on the market today, Rifle shafts feature a patented internal rifling design and stepless technology which give golfers tighter shot dispersion, better control, greater distance and a superior feel.

“It’s this advanced technology and superior performance that has made Rifle shafts a favorite among the best players in the world,” he adds.

Only Rifle steel shafts incorporate four unique technologies to generate unparalleled performance and consistency. These sophisticated shafts feature: Frequency Matching that perfectly matches a set of clubs through electronic calibration; Stepless Design Technology that eliminates the energy-robbing ‘steps’ found on most other steel shafts, and provides greater accuracy and a smooth, yet solid, feel at impact; Patented Internal ‘Rifling’ that transfers energy more efficiently than other steel shafts, reduces vibration and increases distance; and advanced Flighted Technology that features produces variable ball trajectories for different clubs within a single set.

I too favour Rifles. I had 5.5 in my T-Zoids and now have 5.5 TFRs in my RacLts. However the number of companies offering Rifles is falling fast. Seems manufacturers are offering Nippon as first choice custom shaft, which is a backward step imho. Friend of mine wanted to try a set of Project Xs and couldn't get any UK company to fit, Miz have dropped them and Titleist never answered his request.

I would love to try the new higher launch Prjoect Xs in 5.5 but unlikely to see a set anywhere in Britain, Nippon, which is a completely different animal, and a much lower quality shaft is flooding the market over here. As a fairly hefty bloke who cannot get away with light feeling irons they are a real no go area.
