A few nice pics.

Hey all. I have been in Tampa for the past few weeks and got a few pictures I thought you all might like. I wont go into detail here because the pictures should answer most questions anyone might have.
One of the coolest things I was able to see and get some infomation about was the new UST putter shafts. These things are awesome! The guys I talked with were the actual designers of the shafts and told me a bit about the shaft and what they were trying to accomplish with the design. The guys are actual rocket scientists and had a wealth of knowledge. I would like to say thanks to them and I wish them all the best with the new shaft. I will never own another putter without this shaft, simply amazing.
The other thing I noticed was the TM products players were using. I only seen 300's or tour LT's. No one was using TP CB's or TP blades.
Finally I was able to check out an iron shaft that I have never seen before which was made with scandium from a company called element 21 (eagle one). The shafts are supposed to redirect unwanted vibration from the players hands. Like all tour players its hard to get players to switch to anything by telling them about the new product but everyone I seen who tried the shaft on the range loved it. I know Golfworks is selling it but I think they are going for 70.00 a shaft so they wont be for everyone.
I was able to sneek on a couple of the tour vans and get a couple of pictures in case no one has had the opportunity to view the inside of a tour trailer. Anyway here are the pics.

Looks like Des Smyth has the Adams ATour irons in his bag...next to the TM 300s they look very good. All has been quiet since the ATour fiasco that Adams mishandled recently. I still think they might be a great set of irons to have in the bag.

I suppose with the Senior Tour, it's no great surprise to see a few 'older' sets of irons there. ;)

 

It's all good stuff though. Great to see a set of 990's there. I've still got my old set that I now use as a back-up. I certainly won't be getting rid of them anytime soon.

Man, that new 906 fw is taking over every Titleist staffer that tries it, it seems! For Jay Haas to go to it, after playing those old Callaways and rejecting every other fw that Titleist has offered him, really says something. He changes clubs very infrequently. The 906 must really have something going for it. And it looks like he might have worn out the PW in that set and went to a 695 PW. Maybe a nicer bridge between his 690CB's and his 400 series Vokeys.

I also wondered about that bag with the old DCI 990's and the 22 degree 503.H. When I saw the 61 degree Vokey stamped TK, I knew it had to be Kite's. Those 503.H's don't get much love on these boards, but there are still an awful lot of them in tour players' bags...

And what are the Titleist irons in JC Snead's bag? They don't look familar to me, but the picture is a little distant. Are they ordinary 704's? Something else?

 

Now, I have to ask... What kind of new technology has an effect on a putter shaft, of all things? That one I'd like some more explanation on...

Only during pre-tournament rounds, not allowed during the event itself.

I am curious about the Tour Edge Exotics bag... What irons were in that bag? The script was between Tommy Armour and the T of Cleveland gear... Can you remember off hand? Thanks. Id drive down but on the way home from Ocala this evening it started pouring down rain. I sure hope they get the 3 rounds in this year and it isnt abbreviated like last year. Thanks for the great pics

i'm guessing those are kite's 990s, i actually held his pw once, sandy let me do that after a round, they look like his old 990s, nice and round.

 

ha, i just went back and checked out the 990s , they are kite's you can see the TK on the 61 degree wedge. Amazing, i remember looking at that wedge about 4 years ago during the senior open. Good to see Tom goes back to the old reliable irons.
