RIFLE SHAFTS

Been looking at a set of Cobra irons which have shafts which states - Precision Rifle Frequency Coefficient matched by electronic calibration. Does not state flex or usual rifle numerical identification ie. 5.5 etc.

Does anyone know what these might be please ?

.... 5.5 means ... between stiff and regular.

Yep, got the specs for the Rifle numericals but these don't have the number on them.

Every thing at Royal Percision is freqency rated, they havea great scale on there website to help you out.

are you saying the black and gold shaft band say's "frequency coefficient...."? if so the shaft band typically has the frequency designation on it. Otherwise the only other way to tell besides frequency testing them is to remove the grip and see if any of the markings are still there. I have seen rifle shafts both with and without markings at the butt end. Hope this helps.

If I remember right it goes

4.5 reg

5.0 firm

5.5 stiff

6.0 xstiff

6.5 omygodstiff

something like that, its all pretty subjective.

Last post was right on.I played flighted rifle 6.0 for 3 seasons switched to s300 dynamic gold played like a 5.5.Now i play Rifle project x 5.5 mizuno and others suggest these play a tad stiffer then other rifle shafts.

Last 2 posts hit the nail on the head. I have Rifle 5.5 and it plays like a DG300 stiff. I hit some deadly lasers earlier this morning.

The reason why you don't see any number might be the fact that the shafts are custom made. I have my set fitted by a Rifle CRC and also has a Rifle sticker but no cpm noted anywhere. This is because certified Rifle fitters usually get blank shafts from Royal Precision and trim them to any cpm that they seem fit (these guys usually have odd flexes like 5.8, 5.2, 6.3, etc.). Try asking the seller, he might be able to find out. I got my backup set directly from Mizuno with Rifle 5.5 and they put the aftermarket 5.5 shafts with blue labels that you can buy from Golfsmith or others.
