Do you take your glove off to putt? [POLL]

I may be weird :drinks: , but I take mine off after every shot and back on for the next shot except short chips and putts for which I don't wear it. This probably contributes to how fast my gloves get too loose, but I have always played this way. Also, there is no real reason I don't use one for short shots, I think I saw a pro do this when I was a kid and thought it was cool so I copied him.

Glove has to come off! I might as well leave the headcover on the putter if I am going to go with the glove on! The feel with a glove on is so bad.

I only use glove for FULL swings. Never for chips, pitches, putts, or Sandys. Sometimes not eve for FULL shots. Depends on my mood I guess!

the reason why i put the glove on in the first place is to get a better grip on the club...otherwise i wouldn't wear one. i don't need it when putting, or pretty much anything under a 100 yards...thats when the glove comes off

Glove off for all shots within 50 yards of the green, including all greenside bunker shots. Better feel IMO.

Used to not, and started bout 3 years ago and gave me better speed control but keep m glove on for every other shot

I take the glove off for pitch shots that are less than 50 yards or so. No hard and fast rule, but somewhere around there is the demarcation point. I always remove it for putting.

 

Strangely, I play greenside bunker shots with the glove on. Don't ask me why.

I see i'm one of the few who doesnt wear a glove when i play.The few times i have due to sweaty hands, yes i would take glove off to putt.I would also take it off after every shot.Makes sense to remover after shot to help dry out.Also , if my shot is 80yds in i also wouldnt wear a glove.Somehow it helps with the feel process.Maybe its mostly due to not normally wearing a glove when i play??

I take mine off for Putting and chipping / pitching / greenside bunkers... I like the feel on the chips etc (I have thin grips on my wedges) and I hate the sticky sensation of the glove against my putter grip, so it's always off

im a glove off guy for putting as well. I find taking the glove off, and putting it on as part of my routine between shots helps me keep my focus on golf. Its such a mindless golf activity putting on and taking off that glove that it lets me focus on golf, and not get caught up in "other" thoughts.

Hmmm, i seem to be in the majority that leave their glove on to put. I don't see it as having anything to do with feel, I just never really thought to take mine off :rolleyes:

 

Besides, my puttings bad enough that I don't need to worry about gloves and whatnot!

I only put my glove on for shots over about 50 yards and bunker shots. The glove is in my pocket between shots and on/around the green. In essence, I leave it off for touch shots and put it on for full/near full shots.

I rely mostly on my right hand for feel and control when I put, so keeping the glove on while putting doesn't bother me. I suppose that it would be a good idea during extremely hot weather, just to keep it from getting saturated.

I generally wear a glove {I too like the Titleist players glove!!} until I get to 50 yards in.I dont putt with it on unless it's a "gimmie" and generally,also,take mine off between shots.I think I do that to more or less dry them out.I get only 2 rounds out of a glove before it starts to feel "slick".My playing buddies say Im "anal" about switching gloves so often.I get them at www.rockbottomgolf.com in case sizes when "scratch" will let me. I have been using the closed out Maxfli "touch" glove with the "U-Flex" technology.I was paying about $4 a glove and they are 100% cabretta and pretty thin.I think they are out of them now but they do have the closed out Callaway "players" glove at a good price.

I never put with my glove on because I believe that there is more feeling/feedback without it. Now as far as playing, it all depends on how I am feeling on that day. Sometimes I want direct feedback/feeling on my full shots and I feel as if I get this when not using a glove. I am about 50/50 playing with a glove or not playing with one. The only glove I use is the Footjoy Sci-Flex series though.
