The combined technologies of the "Tuned performance Cartridge," "rac," oversize cavity back head-design, and advanced lightweight shafts makes the OS iron Taylor Made's longest, strongest iron ever.

* Oversized head with generous offset and slightly wider sole promote an unmatched combination of high launch angle, long, penetrating ball flight and maximum control

* Improved rac technology and new Tuned Performance Cartridge collectively deliver extraordinary feel

* Redesigned Tuned Performance Cartridge saves an impressive 32 grams, which is relocated to enhance MOI and CG position

* Ultra-thin face and large, deep cavity deliver maximum forgiveness

* New and dramatically improved rac technology produces remarkable feel for an iron this forgiving

* New UG 65/65-gram graphite shafts help to launch the ball high and long

I got these last Christmas, after trading in my G5's. I liked them because i was consistantly hitting straight shots and getting good distance, from the Golf Galaxy launch monitor. Don't ever believe that thing, by the way.

Life was great until right in the middle of the season, when for some reason I lost distance. I was about a club and a half shorter than my normal 6 iron which is about 160. The stock shafts in the OS2 are aweful. The grips aren't that great either. The only thing this club has is it's looks.

Buyer Beware.

;) I have always been a midsize or blade style iron fan in the past. Early this summer I was playing pretty well and decided I would look into the ping blade model, S59's. I played with them most of the summer and when my game was on, these irons were awesome! On the other hand, when I had my 'B' game, they weren't so awesome. Just for the fun of it, I decided to start looking for a back up set of (hit it anywhere on the face and still play well) irons. I looked at every oversized model out there. Being a better player, I have to say that most oversized irons are very hard to look down at from address, but after almost giving up on this crazy idea, I finally stumbled accross the OS 2's and wow! They have a nice plain look without the loud colors and plastic inserts of those other companies and a lot thinner sole width, than most other extremely forgiving irons as well. Quite a bit of offset, but I could look past that if I didn't hook them really bad. The only thing I was woried about, being a high ball hitter already, was hitting the ball too high with the OS 2's. I decided to put Dynamic Gold X100's in them to keep the ball flight down. I think it is funny that just by messing around with a set of irons that I never would have looked at before are now my favorite set of irons ever. I have only played 3 rounds with them and I have shot 73,71,72. No waiting time on getting used to these babies, they are ready to run straight out of the gate. These might not get much attention from the good players, but I have seen too many single digit hadicappers shank 1 or 2 per round with their (I have to play true forged blades to be cool) sets of irons. (Just my observation and opinion) The low hadicappers might want to give these a try and hurry up because these are being discontinued for the new R7 line of irons. Little too much color on these for me...

having demod these irons a number of time ive come to the conclusion that the unnecessary ammount of offset kills the set. Looking down at the 3 iron.... plane and simply ugly

the irons are forgiving, long, and straight but the offset made me pull every shot i hit. Much rather have the LTs that have a more reasonable ammount of offset.

all in all good club, just too much offset for me to justify keeping

I have a set of 3-LW - that's right, the whole thing. Stock 90g S flex shafts and all. These are the most forgiving clubs I've ever hit, and the feel is soft as can be as well. They're offset, they're chunky, the lofts are too strong, and all that said this is some set of clubs that nearly every golfer could benefit from. I play off a 0.3 index and have typically used blades or players' cavities, but got to talking to the bag room kid at my club who is a collegiate golfer and uses the OS2s. He said he loved them and could work the ball just fine with them and that whatever amount of playability that may have been lost was far more than compensated for by the fact that a mis-hit 3 iron would still go 90 percent of its distance and at the target, and boy was he right. I found that I even liked the wedges and dumped out the CG10s and Vokeys.

When I practice or play a round away from my home club with my FTXs or 690.MBs there's a certain cleanliness to the look that I miss a little bit, but I forget how nice they look when I miss the 3 iron by a quarter inch. I'm as guilty as the next guy of wanting to play tour-type irons for ego and aesthetics, but we're not tour players and the idea is to shoot the lowest score. I actually enjoy having ten of these blocky things sitting in my bag and getting the semi-derisive looks from "players" using weapons ill-suited for their intended purpose because of their lack of skill relative to their sets. I don't care how good a player you are; give these a shot and you might find yourself VERY pleasantly surprised.

I have had these for 4 years now and couldnt be happier. Although I am looking for a new set, I would not hesitate to make this purchase all over.

Walking on a course the other day I got bit....by the new club bug...I"ve got the RAC's and have been looking at a new set of burners. I'm a HIGH handicapper and logical mind says I'd be much better off spending the dough on lessons than clubs. Reading the above and some other though, perhaps I should get them reshafted?

What do you guys think?
