Na, I'm actually pretty cheap in life and smart with money - I have 2 vices - Golf Clubs and Electronics.

 

 

I feel your pain! I myself have the same 2 problems :) not only am I looking for with MP52/AP2's and a Bettinardi putter....

 

I am even worse with electronics! I have finally finished my home theater system...but god I can't help it if I get near Blu-ray's... It's like XMAS all over again :yahoo:

 

P.S. If you need a TV I'd highly recommend a Pioneer Kuro as they are gonna be out of production soon. Greatest TV on the market. Period.

One of the funniest things I have read in a very long time. I wish you well. You may want to look into NetJets and fly out to Southern CA so you can shop at Roger Dunn. They offer a 90 day return policy so you would be in 12th heaven. Rock On!

I hadn't played in 30 years and got hooked over the winter. I bought an inexpensive set of Wilson clubs at Christmas and a cheap stand bag.

 

Since then...

 

Bought:

2 Odyssey putters and a Ping putter - all headed to ebay

7 or 8 odd, inexpensive clubs to experiment with (demo 6 irons, cheap drivers, etc.)

Those clubs, along with the original Wilson set and bag are all headed to Ebay.

 

Have bought everything else in my signature line SINCE THEN (along with an Adams DIXX BLU putter/analyzer) and am planning to play through 2009 with what's currently in the bag- but then we all know that is subject to change, right?! LOL!

 

So I went from $250 invested, to $2200 in bag and clubs plus a $100 BagBoy push cart + $400 in electronics and $350 in 3 new pair of shoes (2 Pair of Footjoy Classics and a pair of Etonics) Looks like that comes to about 3-Large in all, but I don't have too many other vises.

 

Oh... and of course about $500 in rain gear, hats, shirts and pants for the course! LOL!

kgeorge, your post is a classic, you sir are on a roll. The thing that gets me is that you have not managed to get to the course yet and continue to make all those changes. I see that GolfTown is nearby, obviously you are in Canada and that is the reason for no on course play at this time. GolfTown is a good source for all kinds of new clubs/equipment, I love their stores and am on a first name basis with the staff at several of their locations.

 

Keep us updated on any further changes before you actually get out and play. I think there is definitely room for more changes, perhaps the Ping woods for R9s, just trying to help!!! :rockon:

Nope. I went with a Panasonic AX200U. I compared this one to projecters costing $4000 more and the Pana won time and time again.

Paired up with a Carada 106" Brilliant White Screen.

Back to club hoing - I see Nike is coming out with Black VR Wedges - So I sold my Vokeys on EBay.

 

I have been so confused the past few months that I am in the Process of Selling EVERYTHING I bought on ebay. Next weekend, I'm going to a pro club fitter and HE will pick the clubs for me!

I wish we had a simulator option like that around here :) I usually spend the winter with a hoodie on running around in the snow with a pair of clubs lol. People in the clubhouse just shake their heads and watch in amazement. (Apparently you're not supposed to play in sub-freezing weather... I missed the memo ;b)

 

I took out an AP2 and an MP52 6 iron this morning and the MP52 > AP2 in every way possible.

OK Here it goes - I'm ADDICTED to golf clubs.

A quick background - I had about 1500 bucks in gift certificates and some clubs to trade so it's not really about the money - I really Haven't spent too much but this is what I've done Since XMAS.

 

1. Bought a Set of MP52 Irons and 3 Vokey Wedges and a Mizuno Tour Stand Bag

 

2. Thinking I should have gotten the Nike Splits (I LOVE them both), I returned the MP52s and Vokeys and Picked up a Set of Nike VR Splits and Nike VR Wedges. I also returned the Mizuno Bag and picked up a Nike Tour Sasquatch Bag.

 

3. I picked up a Taylor Made 3 Wood to match my Driver and 5 Wood from last year.

 

4. I went to the outdoor range and a spur of the moment decision, I traded the VR Splits back in and Got the MP52s again!

 

5. I picked up the Vokeys that I returned in the first place!

 

6. Picked up my Ping Zing Redwood - Amazing putter!

 

7. I returned the Tour Sasquatch Bag because my putter wouldn't fit and picked up a Ping Hoofer Bag

 

8. I ordered a Ping G10, 4 Wood and Hybrid and returned the 3 Wood I bought and traded in my TM Burner and 5 Wood from last year.

 

9. I put new grips (Multicompound Blue) on my MP52 and Vokey Wedges.

 

LOL

 

SO Now I have a:

 

Ping Hoofer Bag

Mizuno MP52s (Multicompound Blue Grips)

52,56,60 Vokeys 09 (Multicompound Blue Grips)

Nike VR Wedges G,S,L

Ping G10 Driver

Im ALMOST DONE!!!!!! I might sell my G10 driver and get a FT9 or R9 or Cobra S9 Pro. I'm not crazy about the G10. I was but the flight is too low.

 

 

Anyone else as stupid / indecisive as me!???!?!?

 

It doesn't help that they opened a MASSIVE golf town 25 min from my house. There is also a heated fantastic Outdoor Range across the street and a few indoor simulators close by.

 

I can't wait to hit a drive outside.

 

Like this is my Problem, I LOVE The G10 Hybrid but I want to try the Titleist just because I like the headcover better! lol. The Hybrid is great too but I want to try the 909H and don't forget the R9 stuff.

 

It's not the money, Ebay resale value is great and most stores give you good trade in / returns on newer stuff.

 

I AM A CLUB HO AND PROUD!!!!!

 

 

(p.s. - I hate this ping bag and might get another tour sasquatch bag but I have nothign Nike in my bag so I don't think I can do it! and the Mizuno Bags are ugly as sin)

 

 

Just a quick update to this post.

I got so mad about the G10 and not being able to hit it nicely outdoors that I got pissed and sold EVERYTHING on ebay.

I decided to take a few weeks off until the weather breaks and buy everything in April!

 

I paid all my bills and actually didn't lose much money if anything at all.

 

Demo Days starts at a few places near my home and I've been going trying everythign under the sun.

Been going to demo days the past 2 saturdays. I shored up my Fairwood woods and Hybrids going with the Titlesist 909F2 and H series.

I have decided to take ho'ing to a new rookie level. After not having purchased much of anything in the last 10 years (save replacing a driver after a craked face), I have done the following, all withing the last month:

 

1. Pulled and replaced stock 905R shaft with V2 75g X

2. Pulled and replaced stock TM R5 3 wood with V2 75g X

3. Pulled and replaced DG S300's with TTBG X's in hybrid and all irons, 3-PW

4. Bought a new Nike Dymo SQ with V2 75g X

5. Bought a new Titleist 3wood with V2

6. Bought a new set of MP-67's with TTBG x's

 

I pick them all up tomorrow. If golf season does not begin soon, I may be homeless.
