Purchased a black stitch-back model - love it. I have never used a leather grip before, but after using this for a few weeks, I don't see ever using anything else...and this is a huge departure for me having used GOlf Pride Pro Only and Pingman grips usually.

I got mine and the first one I got was disappointed because it was more brown than red. Color was much different than the one posted on the website. Also there was some small dirt or discolorations all over the grip. I simply wrote Gripmaster an e-mail and sent it back and they sent me one back that was much more red(like I requested). I will be putting it on next week. I will let you know how it goes.

The grip is much thicker than a Ping Man grip. I love the Ping Man grips and Dancing Cameron grips. I just received my Circa 62 today and the Grip Master grip feels like a mid size putter grip compared to the Ping Man. I like the feel of the leather so I will give this a shot. Final word it feels more like a mid size grip to me.

The stitched-back is not very tacky, especially when compared to their other grips. I actually found it too slick!

It's personal preference, but I prefer the Pistol Tour Pro 'wrapped' leather grip they offer much more than the Stitched-back. I love the tackiness and have played their grips on all my clubs for three years. I didn't find their Stitch-back midsize, it's just slightly fatter than standard and that's the shock resistant film between the leather and underlisting. It will flatten with use.

Exact same problem I had. I love the tackiness of their wrap leather grips, but the stitch back has none of it. Although the grip itself is thick, the leather feels very thin and papery.

If they made a stitch back wtih the same amount of pro-tac as their wrap grip I'd be all over it like white on rice!

guys, all our putter grips have less tack than the club grips. the circa grip has even less tack to allow for scotties bling. our stitchback is a bit tackier than scotties but not as tacky as the wrapped tour putter. if you would like it a bit tackier, just ask us when you purchase.

the thickness of the leather is the same as in all our putter grips.

the size of the gmtphl is almost exactly the same as the scotty black and is exaclty the same as our wrapped tour putter.

regards,

sarg1948

btw, genuine leather is back. gripmaster the winningest genuine leather grip on tour!

i have the pro pistol black/mahagony wrap on my putter ... love the tacky feel. but, i think i would prefer the flat panel of the stitch-back model ... can you indeed achieve the same tackiness in the stitch-back as the pro pistol wrap? weights are the same ... about 58-60 grams, correct?

I put a Stitchback redmond on the putter I made for beruo. Although I didn't putt with it, I can comment.

It is a little thicker than say a Ping blackout, but not mid or oversized. It is extremely soft. To me, the leather was very nice. As mentioned previously, the redmond looks a little more brown in person than in pics. This is not a manipulation by Gripmaster, as I found the same thing in the pictures I took of it. More of a reddish brown than a brownish red.

To me the tanning, dying etc... was nicely done. It wasn't perfectly uniform but it is leather, not a synthetic material. That is part of the charm. Just like hand stamping on a putter. Even if done extremely well, it will never be perfectly aligned, spaced etc...

The stictching was also very nicely done, nice and tight.

Overall they are very nice grips and I would not hesitate to recommend them to anyone. The price is well worth it.

sarg1948, you will be getting an order from me soon.

I didn't care for the leather wrap grip all that much. it seemed much larger than i prefer (small hands) and I ended up going back to the lamkin crossline. I also didn't care for the feel of it in my hands, it felt very slick for some reason.

do you find that sucker to be really tacky ... and does it get super tacky when you sponge it down and dry it off? those the characteristics i find with the pp wrap model.

I'm going to chime in with my .02:

I've searched and hoped and then searched some more, but I can't find anything that compares to the Tour Pistol from Gripmaster. Hands down the best putter grip I've every played. I just ordered another for my Gauge GAA3.

Simply the best blend of feel, tackiness, and thicknees (IMHO). Bar none.

BTW: Did I mention that I'm wearing the belt too?

The stitch-back is definitely not as tacky as the pro pistol. There is a noticeable different between the Cameron American Classics Leather than the Circa 62. So if you're looking for the a real tacky grip you're better off with the pro pistol.

Sarg1948,

I'm on my third year using your grips and THEY ARE AWESOME. When it gets hot in the summer or rainy, my grip pressure stays nice and soft! I think my game has improved just from your grips. Plus the shockless technology really works. Love the tour pistol wraps best in terms of putter grips. What's the secret to keep the protack from coating my shafts and irons over time (a minor problem compared to the advantage your grips offer).

Hey Sarg.....nice to see all the "love" for your great grips. In my opinion these are the best grips I've ever had on a putter. When I had my Scotty's refinished, I ordered them with the leather grips. On the majority of my other "gamers" I have Gripmasters on them. Fabulous grips that work excellent in any weather condition. If you haven't tried them yet, it's definitely something to be on your to-do list. :)
