Hi everyone,

I'm finally ready to get fit for the new clubs I have been dreaming about for so long.
I have been to the manufacturer's websites where they have dealer/fitter locators, but there are too many to chose from.
Can anyone recommend a great place for a dynamic fitting in or around Thousand Oaks. CA?

I've heard good things about International golf in Woodland Hills and Pro Golf in Simi Valley.

I have been to and recomend Tour Golf of of Kanan road. Very thorough fitting process and just about every club.

International Golf in Woodland Hills is a great golf shop. Very helpful people and always willing to help out. You might also want to check out Rivier Ridge Golf Course in Oxnard. They have a great driving range where you can try out a wide variety of clubs. They also host a lot of demo days.

How do you like River Ridge? Do you play there often?

How do you like River Ridge? Do you play there often?

I used to play there once a month but not in a while now. It's a fun course - especially the par 3 with the island green. I really liked it because they spaced out the tee times well so there wasn't a lot of waiting around. They also accept reservation 8 days in advance if you do it online - another +.

FYI, River Ridge has a second course now ("the vineyard course"). I played it last Thanksgiving when it was still very rough and unfinished. I thought it was an unimaginative design and would suggest that you stick with the original course if you go. Very nice and a good value as well.

To be honest, the best courses around here are in Moorpark: Rustic Canyon, Tierra Rejada, and Moorpark Country Club are all very nice and just a few minutes away on the 23.

Residents of T.O. get a discount card at Los Robles Greens and that's where I usually play.

Of course Sherwood CC is spectacular but you have to know a member and I just don't move in those circles.

Sterling Hills in Camarillo is nice too.

Anyone heard anything about Golf Labs Inc. in Sherman Oaks. I will be going to a complete dynamic fitting there next week.

It was detailed in Golf Digest or Golf Magazine I belive, a few months ago. There are non equipment biased an supposedly have every club and shaft from every manufactuer to try out and compare.'

I belive the process takes about 2-3 hours and its all indoors on their stae of the art equipment.

Its expensive, about $250 but i will find out if its worth it next week.

Let us know how the fitting goes, I'd like to know also.

My friend went to Max Out Golf for a fitting & was happy with them. It was very expensive though because he got new irons & had his woods re-shafted & an weight put in his putter grip. Like a true ho, he's looking for new irons anyaways.

I grew up in the area (Westlake Village) in the 70's and 80's, and it sure has grown in terms of golf! Where back then there was only Los Robles, all those courses in Moorpark I hear are great. I played Moorpark CC a few months ago and felt it was well worth it. Want to step up my game and play Lost Canyons soon, though.
