Sorry for your loss man! My dad passed 18 years ago on Father's Day (I was too busy to see him), my son his first grandkid was born exactly 2 months later at the same time as his passing.

Not to mention Philly Cricket has 2 teams in the top division of the Golf Assoc of Philadelphia team brackets and another nipping at the top brackets heels. For those not familiar with GAP, it is tough to have one team, let alone 3 up there. They have top notch Am's there.

Haha, c'mon Jeep!! That would be too logical. My swing has changed since my surgery, I'm going to get a lesson today to see what's been going on. Haven't had a lesson in over a year, and my practice time this year combined is maybe 4 range sessions. Either way, the Epic is too demanding for what I've got right now, we'll see.

There is no absolutely no shame in mastering something more forgiving. My bag has zero shame in the GI area...3 kids 5 and under will do that to a man.

 

I still catch quite a bit of grief from my playing partners as they've watched me go from 430cc drivers and blades to what I have now, but being able to get away with a clank or two a round helps me put up with it.

Play well this weekend but i got to the same point with my Epic. Needed some type of change so I went with the Ping G400 LST. It's right there with the Epic but a little more forgiving and in the 440cc package.

I think you’ve just summarised the thoughts of everyone who has kids!

 

Golf becomes more frustrating initially due to lack of practice time, and the fact that there are times when you’d prefer to be with your kids. But I then found that I quickly accepted that things on course would be more up and down, and just tried to enjoy it, and the scoring suddenly came back again.

 

If you can get clubs that give a little more help (due to lack of practice) it’s no bad thing. I went to the extreme with a set of Speedblades, which ended very badly, very quickly, before ending up with the Z765s (which I love)which offer a bit of both. As always it’s just great fun trying new stuff and being on the course when you get the chance.
