Arthritis sucks huh? I went to $Taper 120 in MMC’s and then threw  Pro softs  and midsize grips on for good measure. I tried the MMT graphite but it really didnt feel any better than steel with the Prosofts. I’m seriously tempted on trying the MIM Cobras though. I hit a few 7 irons last week and although feel is completely subjective i dont know how anyone could say they are not rieally soft. From the top they look very traditional just a bit bigger. Also very little offset which is very intriguing. Glad to see you back on here. Ive also kind of given up on a 4 iron. I’m not to proud to say i like being able to stop a 22 degree hybrid from 225.

Tell me more about 0311T 5-PW and 0311P in the 4 iron.  They look amazing - and heard they are insanely forgiving.  The wedges look pretty good too - was thinking of going raw SM8, but feel like I'm checked in right when a bunch of new things are about to hit the market lol

IMO –

Gen3’s are the perfect mix of the 3 gen’s so far – with Gen1 being 2 soft and Gen2 being quite firm. The Gen1 also was more prone to those shots which flew out of nowhere 15 yards over the green. I believe the insert in more refined then ever, also the T-model in the 3rd gen is slightly smaller in a good way over the G2’s. On Blade length and top line. Plus the attention to detail with the small milling.

The sets blend well with the wedges.. Milled wedges are amazing, great classic shape, phenominal feel, down to 54/56 although I like another brand with more grind options for a 60deg.

I haven’t played the P-Model only the driving irons X-series Gen2, they are so easy to play (only the sole is maybe a hair too wide)  although they compliment a 5-9 or Pw build in the T’s, however I’m going to game a set of the ST’s soon as I can’t stop looking at them lol.

Should try Gen 3 T’s or ST’s

P or X in the long irons

Sugar Daddy wedges 46,50,54

Raw SM8 in your preferred grind

job done 👍🏽

It was 😉

would say the T’s are in between 718 CB and AP2’s. Gen 3 is a slimmer looking profile then GEN2.

If interested in sticking with Miura, I play a combo set of the Miura TC-201 4-6i and MB-101 7i-PW. The TC has very minimal offset but forgiving enough, and blend perfectly with the MBs. Also, lofts match up almost perfectly, only had to bend the TCs 1 weak and have perfect gaps.

Decided to get fit.  Going with the tried and true, Cool Clubs.  I figured I was getting up too high in cost for an experiment or another game of equipment whack-a-mole 🙂  Will be fit for irons next week, then woods when the new clubs come out.

Truly have no idea what I will get fit into.. will keep you all posted.

I’ve had all mine with Josiah. Chris is a great fitter for the guys that have high speed. He hits the $h!t out of the ball. Josiah is just an absolute clinic on shafts.

I agree with you on the 'nuke' shot, PXG data looks much better to me in that regard. Were those 6 irons? If so, were there any concerns/discussions about 7k spin with a 6 iron? It's not outrageous but does seem a touch higher than normal.

Pure tends to flip at impact hence the spin 😉

Love the review and PXG's always feel great to me.  It's nice to see somebody doing testing while us cold weather folks deal with winter 😕

Pure, I agree with you on the outdoor fitting. There are places on that range where you can move to and hit off hardpan or a fluffy lie and see how the club reacts. My first fitting with them 6 years ago, Josiah put me in the SF and I've never looked back. Also agree about the PXGs. I had an iron fitting a year ago and it was the clear winner. just didn't have the means to purchase those. Did get the PXG forged wedges, though. I suspect you will like those.

They were all 6 irons.. hit into a slight hurting cross wind.  They said that a premium ball spins on avg 250-350 less than the range ball numbers shown.

Edit.. also to note, I was hitting a very slight cut most of the time.

The golf course is only going to take spin away, so where the spin was at isn’t cause for concern.

You can definitely tell how low/low the iron/shaft combo is with the Miura/X100.  My swing also isn't as repeatable as it was in year's past, so seeing how good this grouping was out of the gate definitely made me happy.  Now to rub two pennies together to see how I'm going to pay for these things 😬

Thanks, that makes sense. Definitely wasn't saying you need to go crazy and drop to 5000 spin, just wasn't sure if there was discussion of strengthening 1 deg. or something along those lines.

No, he wasn't really worried about the spin.  It was also good we were hitting into a breeze the whole time, which would have exposed any over spin.  Definitely spin more than the X100's, but loved the results I saw.  Hoping it translates to the course.

Will be doing woods in 2 weeks.

Great to see you so happy with what are clearly very good results with the PXG.

As for payment, just tell yourself that they’re a good investment, that you’ll never buy another set, and that it’s been a difficult year with Covid so you deserve a treat! Simples.
