Callaway X-tour Irons - Bounce

Experiences?
I did a few searches and read the reviews but could not find much response regarding the bounce on the Callaway X-Tour irons. When I look at them they look great however I always come back to the amount of bounce. They have a tremendous amount of bounce to them and I was curious how this plays. Naturally, I want to demo them before I buy them but I just wanted to know what you guys thought. What are your experiences when playing with these irons? What type of conditions do you normally play in soft or hard? Any experiences & comments are appreciated. :kewlpics:

Normal conditions for me is dry...especially in the summer months that are coming up. I generally play 1 course probably 80% of the time. I love the performance and can live with the fat top line...but the bounce I cannot. I have a partial set I am going to get ground down for the hell of it. (3-7 iron)

Woods : Callaway Razr TA, Titleist F3-05
Hybrid : Adams LSP XTD
Irons : Fourteen TC910 3&4I, Nike VRProCombo 5-PW
Wedges : Fourteen RM-11 54/60
Putter : Nike Method 003 Oven

I think that the amount bounce is very individual. The course i play is dry and quite hard in summer and soft in winter. I have an aggressive swing angle in to the ball and take quite big divots. I find the bounce to be fine for me as ball striking is the strongest part of my game. I can see that if you hit the ball even slightly fat the bounce could case a problem.

I play in Michigan.Maybe a bit more bounce than some irons, but after a few rounds its not an issue.I have had recent dealings with Callaway that made me come away with a lot of respect for the company.A lot of smart guys in R&D along with $$$$$$$ put these irons together. There is a reason these irons are the specs they are.I have had 15 sets of "players forged CBs" in the last 10 years. The Xtours are the best of the bunch.JMHO

At first I thought they had too much bounce but after playing with them a while it never crosses my mind. My biggest problem was hitting out of wet rough, but even that became a non issue after a while.

All in all I think they are the best clubs I have ever played.

Then I had them Kwoked with Tour Concepts and they are even better than before.

I have had no issues with the bounce on these clubs on a wide variety of conditions (we get a little bit of everything here in Kansas). I would try them out.

You have hit the proverbial nail on the head! These irons launch very high and have a lot of bounce. I actually sold mine based on this, but I have a fairly shallow picker move on the ball.

I think if you tend to hit down hard on the ball (like most pros), you should be fine, as this downward move tends to remove a little bounce anyway and allows you to take a nice divot without digging.

If you have a move like me with just shallow divots, you are likely to struggle with the large sole on firmer fairways. And be aware that the X Tours really do launch at least 2 degrees higher than any other player's iron I have tried.
