Best modern irons that are gonna be classics??

I was wondering what irons you guys think that are somewhat new right now (like mp32s, etc) that you think will become classic clubs. I like a bladier type of a club with some forgiveness and am in the market for some new irons and want some players clubs that will last. i love the s59 tours and though i havent hit the 735s or mp32s i like the looks of em. any feedback would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

I really like my 735's, and they get my vote. I don't know that they'll be a classic later on, but for now they're awesome.

If you all haven't already, you need to get a set of the Nike Blades and put them in the closet for your grandchildren. I know they aren't the same, but having the "same" set of irons that the best player ever played is entire career has to mean something in 20 years.

 

I have a set w/2iron un opened sitting in the closet. When I get a chance, I'm going to have Tiger sign the 2 iron and mount the set in my memorabilia room...

 

I don't see him changing ever...

I believe the Titleist 681's will be classics. First, they are the irons Tiger used in 2000, his best year ever so far. Second, and everyone on here will agree with me I'm sure, they are the softest and best blades Titleist has made so far. I have the 2 Iron and when it is struck correctly is the best feeling in golf.

Titleist 990. In the 1999-2001 period, it seemed like every high school player on the planet got them, including me. It was the first player's blade I can remember. Dual-length hosels, progressive cavity weight pad - lots of technology in the club. It was also the last great iron before everyone decided to go forged and their popularity going out somewhat coincided with Titleist being supplanted by Taylor Made as the #1 company.

 

Though, hopefully with the 905R, Titleist will return to the top

TM300's...best alltime cb...but suppose its already a classic..especial the Lehmans, NS..etc..

MP-32, MP-60 just because i think that the cut muscle technology will be just as big if not bigger than tm's moveable weights.

Most collectibles will always be "players type clubs".

Nike blades, MP33s, MP32s, MR23 blades, Z101s, TM300s are what seem to me the ones that will be collectible.

i'm going to say that the mizuno mp-33 and 32's will both be seen as classic clubs that can't seem to be improved upon. anoher outside shot for classic i think might be the cally x-tours....a forged cavity that feels so good and the look is unlike any 'tour' caliber club.

Put my vote in for the Ping S59 Tours, you know that are Ping and will last a lifetime.

I would say the Titleist F3-05 only because of limited availability, it will be the next 970.

 

The 300 and 681's are already the standard in irons, plus the TN-87.

 

The new clubs are just so readily available that i think to achieve classic staus there has to be fewer to be had.

iqonoqlast, I wouldn't say TM has supplanted Titleist as the #1 company in golf equipment. Last year, TM led the driver list on the PGA Tour. Titleist was 2nd. But Titleist led in irons, wedges, putters, and golf balls.
