Is there a "feel" difference between DGS300 and DGS300 with sensicore, or for any TT shaft for that matter. Is it noticeable? Is it woth the extra $$$? Is there less stress on your joints? Thanks for the feedback in advance.

i will never buy another club without sensicore.

ย

one of the above posters is right on, the shaft feels the same as regular DG on pure hits, the feedback is there. on off center hits, you know you hit it off center, and can easily tell where/how you missed b/c it wont feel the same, you just dont get those nasty vibrations.

ย

completely worht it in my opinion, especially if you get DGSL, as those feel slightly harsher than regular DG to begin with.

Sensicore is an excellent option. Definitely worth the upgrade. People who say that you can't feel anything are exaggerating because you can still feel the mis hits off the toe or heel except that it's not that harsh. It plays same as the S300s even with sensicore in it.

I love the feel of the DG Sensicore shaft. The first great set of irons (Mizunos) I had happened to have Sensicores, and whenever I build another set, I end up trying to replicate the way that set felt and played. The regular DG and the Sensicore DG are actually slightly different shafts, and I'll be really bummed out if TT decides to phase out the original design in favor of just adding the newer, lighter version of the insert to the standard DG shaft.

Does anybody know the weight difference between SL S300's and SL S300s with Sensicore?

ย

Thanks

Andre

ย

It's on the order of grams. Originally the inserts were heavier, but the way they were placed in the shafts had a negligible effect on the overall static weight and swingweight. The newest sensicore insert is incredibly light. It won't effect anything but the feel.

ย

The Golfworks catalog shows Dynalite Golds with and without Sensicore, and the weight difference (for the same flex) is 4 or 5 grams, which sounds about right.

I've been thinking about re-shafting my i5's with some DG S300's, and just am starting to look into them. Now this might seem crazy but here's the specs golfsmith.com have for both shafts. They are both the .355 tapered...

ย

DG S300

130 grams

ย

DG S300 with sensicore

128 grams

ย

and.......the sensicore shafts are about $1 per shaft LESS

ย

am I crazy or what....

here's the links:

I recently bought a set of MP-29 with X100 sensicore (2 degree flat). My previous irons were MP-30 with S300 (1 to 2 degrees upright). My iron distances have increased 15-20 yards but I'm trying to figure out what made the big difference. 8 iron (140 --> 155), 7 iron (150 --> 165), 6 iron (160 --> 175).

ย

In terms of trajectory, I generally have high ball flight. The MP-30 ball flight seemed to cut short and drop down quicker, whereas the MP-29 flight seem to complete a full arc -- hence longer distance.

ย

First I thought the MP-29 had stronger lofts but turns out the lofts are the same with the MP-30. What would be the biggest factor(s) contributing to this.... weight, flex, groove, muscle back?

ย

Thank you.

Had three of them snap where they rusted at the sensicore

ย

Almost caused more damage to my body than they helped I got rid of them

ย

ย

ย

Swing

ย

ย

ย

Also happened to me, broke in the grip, just below my hands. Not a great feeling when the club snaps and swings around smacking me on the head.

ย

An open cell foam will trap moisture causing the rust , as you experienced, leading to a failure. Some of these inserts are closed cell foam, or a polymer that is less likely to cause this issues.

For Dynamic Golds, the shafts are different (a bit lighter/a bit softer) when purchased as Sensicores. Not so with DGSL.

ย

If you want exact same DG shaft, have the inserts professionally installed---adds a few grams.
