Srixon Z-RW driver - anyone hit it ?

Afternoon all from a wet and windy South Wales.

I am currently using the Srixon W-506 driver 9.5* fitted with a UST V2 stiff 66g shaft, and it's the best driver I have ever owned. However, this weekend a local golf warehouse are selling off the Z-RW for £79.99 in either 9.5 stiff or 10.5 reg. This comes fitted with the stock Srixon (Fujikura) shaft.

I was just wondering if any of you guys out there had tried one / owned one / had any opinion about it. At £79.99 for a new current line driver, it seems too good a bargain not to buy - especially if you are a big fan of Srixon products ( I clearly am - see sig). For those of you in the know would it be a positive step up from the W506 or is it not really justifiable ?

Oh and they're also selling off the forged W-706 wedges for £39.99 - again another bargain I don't think I can pass on.... :russian_roulette:

Thoughts / opinions gratefully received.

Interesting - I think I'll get one, especially given the price tag and see how it goes. I have to be honest and admit that there's very little wrong with my W506 / UST V2 combo as I hit it a long way. However, being the club ho that I am, plus the fact that it's another highly rated Srixon product think I'll give it a whirl.

What are people's impressions on the stock Srixon (Fujikura) shaft ? I play UST V2 in my woods / hybrid, so am wondering if they'd feel very different or not at all. I spin the ball quite a bit, as well as hitting it high so am always looking to lower flight and spin characteristics.

I love my Z-RW, it is really good with the stock shaft. However, I did win the Motore F1 shaft giveaway so I was going to get my current Z-RW reshafted with it. But, my Dad said he would buy me the exact same head that I can get shafted with the motore. So I will have 2 Z-RW, and my Dad is supporting my club hoing. It is a good day.

This is all great feedback guys - thanks for taking the time to post. One thing I'm still slightly cautious about is shaft characteristics. For those of you that know your shafts what do you think I'll find as the key differences in feel and flight between the UST V2 and the stock Fujikura it comes with ? Also if your experiences aren't great with the stock Fujikura, which would be your shaft of choice to replace it with to get the most out of the driver head design ?

Cheers chaps !

I game the Srixon Z-RW 10.5* with an Aldila NVS R flex shaft. I really like the club. Liked it much better than the 506 driver. Since I have the upgraded shaft, I can't speak about the stock shaft - -I got the NVS because I wanted the higher launch and I heard the stock shaft was a bit soft. So, be sure to swing a stiff flex before you buy. I also have the W-706 56* wedge and absolutely love it. Its right up there with the best of wedges and better than most. It feels incredibly soft. It gives me great spin on blasts from sand and is deadly from 70 yards and in to about 20 yards. Because its so soft feeling and I tend to baby it from inside 20 yards, I pitch with a firmer feeling , lower-lofted wedge.
