Scramble with two WRXers

apparently the people on this board, myself DEFINITELY included...

...can't putt. Goooooood grief. chilidog and bugsyinNC came to durham today to play in a scramble with me and a buddy from work. We had a blast, but couldn't putt our way out of a wet paper bag. Shot -6 while only being -2 on the par 5's...AND a bogey. And yes...its embarrassing to type that. Either way, I had a blast fellas...also wanted to encourage everyone on the board who reads this...two people I never would have met without the WRX board, and I'm sure we'll play again soon. Lots of good people on here and we're all fortunate to have such a great common interest. I'll be in touch guys...we'll heard a little farther south here real soon ;)

Had an awesome time today as well. My wife thinks I am nuts, driving 80 miles to play golf with guys I only know through a golf forum but I am glad I did. Devlbasher and chilidog (and devl's buddy Jay) are great players and good guys. I look forward to hosting the next outing here in the Sandhills.

I enjoyed it as well guys! Sorry I couldn't putt any better. The really sad thing was we were just off the green on one of the par 5s and devlbasher putted it to about 5-6 feet and we still all missed the putt.

 

I definitely had a blast meeting other WRXers...especially guys with such great personalities and great senses of humor. I thought the day was awesome and thanks again devlbasher for inviting me. I'm also going to take bugsy up on the Pinehurst invitation. Can't pass that up!

 

If anyone wants to ever put together a North Carolina WRXers outing, let me know. I'm game!

Nice to hear this worked out, at least from a fun standpoint. :) Don't days like that suck in a scramble / captains choice? It always comes down to putting. I remember playing with 2 scratch guys, a +1 and me one time (I was the D player in this group...haha). We hit it to like 10 feet on every hole and shot a measly -10. Sad. :)

Just to echo, I would have never met and played with Joey3108 (Joe Kwok), Icemkr, or Hairpie had it not been thru this forum. Great guys all. and yes we have played some good and sucky golf together, but the camraderie is what really matters.
