Well thats a good question.....but wouldnt the Clubs you prefer be the ones that are made the best.

All subjective I guess. Not trying to pick an argument here but from a "manufacturing" standpoint, we could be talking about quality control, and tolerances at the actual plant facilities. If we're talking about the clubs we prefer, due to appearance, look, feel, and how they play for an idividual then I think we are talking about the brand itself.

Oh well... Back to voting... All of the brands listed are good, but I give an ever so slight edge to Titleist. Second place would be Cleveland, followed by Mizuno, Callaway, Nike, and Ping.

You just absolutely cannot beat Titleist in any catagory....

Except warranty and being able to build to custom specs (correctly). NEVER had a set of custom irons built to the ordered values. 30+ sets over the last 10 years. Problem with callaways instant replacement, problem with pings replacement after some reasonable discussion.

Have never quite gotten over the run around I had with Titleist on the cracked chrome on my 681s. First they blamed abuse on me (noticed the day I received them), then they blamed Hoffman for bad plating job. Since I knew many people at Hoffman I informed them (which they knew) that Hoffman was only supplying them with raw heads and they (Titleist) were the source of bad surface preparation highlighted by picking a CA bumper plating company to chrome them. 6 weeks later they very very reluctantly replaced them with another set that had face wear problems in one season. Now they produce forged irons that are no better than anyone else since they are all forged at the same house (Endo) as everyone else. My most recent set from them 695MBs has also shown that they still can't be relied on for a quality build. Even though Endo will only sell them finished heads they still manage to mess up irons with terrible lie and loft adjustments. Two irons in my set had very noticeable bend marks in the hosel. You could feel the crease with your finger. Those have gone back for replacement (two weeks ago). No answer has been forthcoming---what a suprise.

Could probably answer this question with a bag search.

Voted Callaway because of reason mentioned above. They make clubs for all levels of players.

I'm not sure all of the others are doing that. Mizuno has started with the 23's and 900's. But I have never found an average or high handicapper driver/fairway woods from Titleist or TM for that matter.

JMHO!! But you asked for it.

Dont understand all the votes for Titelist, they copy all their irons from Mizuno. If you look at all the ones they have brought out in the last few years they are copies of the latest Mizuno iron out.

Drivers is a different story.

And Mizuno until the MP-32s used to copy all of their muscle backs from MacGregor, Spalding, and Wilson. Get yourself some retro 50s, 60s vintage catalogs and you will see everything Mizuno has "designed" are more or less facsimiles of those companies. The only difference is Mizuno choose to make their P wedges look initially like a shovel and then graduated to a very boxy look. Best looking wedge in a set they have produced is the MP-32. They have returned to the boxy look with the MP-60s.

Also do not understand the Titleist addiction. They are solid clubs, but I can find clubs that hit it further and are much more forgiving all day long. If someone can hit a Titleist driver 300 yards, they will hit a Callaway, TM, or Nike 310.

TaylorMade M2 (9.5*)
Exotics CB5 (15*)
TM Rescue TP (19*)
Mizuno JPX 850 Forged (4-GW)
PING Anser Forged (54*,58*)
PING Vintage Pal 2 (35")

"You just absolutely cannot beat Titleist in any catagory...."

The is for sure one category you can always beat Titleist in CUSTOMER SERVICE, the absolute worst by far. Nice clubs though.

AGREED!!!

Here in Canada I don't think Mizuno gets the love they deserve especially with the irons. At my store we sell maybe 10-15 sets of Mizzys a year..?!?!?

I think each compnay has a great Niche......Cleveland was wedges....now they do a lot more (Comp, CG series). I have never like Ping woods, until the G2/G5 stuff....

I would say in general my vote goes to Titleist as well. From the Putter to the Driver....all top drawer stuff!!

For my game it goes like this:

Callaway for my woods. I can't or should I say haven't found a better set up than my Fusion Ft-3 Tour (9.5* Neutral) with the Speeder 756, Big Bertha Stainless Steel 3 wood (15*) with a Dynamic Gold S300 shaft and Heavenwood Hybrids (17* & 20*) with the Dynamic Gold S300 shafts.

Mizuno for irons and wedges. I have the MP-32's (3-PW), MP T-Series wedges (51*, 56*/13* and 60*/05*) and MP Series wedges (52* & 58*). All my irons and wedges have Dynamic Gold S300 shafts.

Ping G430 Max 21° #7 fairway - Diamana TB 80S

Ping G430 Max 26° #5 hybrid - MMTh 90S

Mizuno Pro 243 4-PW irons - MMT 105S

Mizuno T24 Raw 48°-10S wedge - MMT 105S

I find that Titleist equipment fits my game the best, but I feel that Galloway golf has a better overall selection for the entire golfing public and are the best when it comes to customer service. The top manufactures all provide great choices leaving the "who is the best" answer to be very subjective.

Callaway. TD M w/ Ventus Blue-6S

TM Sim Ti 15* w/Hzrdus Yellow 70-S

TM Stage 2 18* w/ Speeder HB-85S

Ping g410 Hybrid 22*w/Alta CB-S

PXG 03117t w/ $-Tapper 115-S 5-PW

SM8. 52* Taylormade Full Toe 58*

Sorry for not voting in this poll, but my answer is:

Driver: Titleist, Taylor Made, Bridgestone

3 wood: Sonartec, Titleist, Taylor Made

Wood Hybrid: Bridgestone, Cleveland, Taylor Made

Iron Hybrid: Titleist, Mizuno, Cleveland

Irons: Miura, Mizuno, Taylor Made

Wedges: Titleist, Cleveland, Mizuno

Putters: Titleist, YES!, Taylor Made

Taylor Made only made it in the putter category because they invented the AGSI insert.

I really find that it works even better than the C-Grooves of my YES Calllie putter.

Has to be Mizuno for irons. For drivers and wedges, Titleist. Titleist make really good iron sets but the forging contractors they use still don't get close enough to Mizuno for feel etc. Haven't been able to try the new 695MB / CB line yet but I would surmise the 'quality of forging gap' might still be a feature. Looking forward to trying them out anyway.

Wow seems like a lot of folks love the Mizuno Irons but lean toward Titleist for woods. Thats what is great there are so many great clubs out there that everyone should be able to find a club and setup that works for them. I have a friend who uses an old set of Dunlop's that are atleast 15 years old and refuses to change. THe hard thing to do is argue with him since he is 3 handicap. It all about comfort level. and what works for you.

Titleist

Driver- Nothing feels as solid and still performs as good or better than any and everything on the market.

Fairway Woods- Solid and very workable

Irons- Soft but have a definate mass behind the ball unlike some of the super soft irons like mizuno (I love the mp-67's though)

Wedges- Spin milled feels good, and spin more than anything out there.

Putters- SOLID

Balls- Best ball ever made

I can go on.

My favorite per category is:

Driver- Titleist

FW- Titleist

Irons- Mizunno or Titleist (tie)

Wedges- Titleist

Putter- Cameron or Bettinardi

Ball- Titleist

Being completely honest, I dounbt any good ball strikers would say different.

Well since Cobra is conspicuously absent, I voted for its big brother Titleist. Cobra has stepped up, new iron sets look great, HS9/X-speed are big bombers, the baffler pro is an awesome alternative to 585h. Putters are lacking and no wedges but Vokey has that on lockdown. Can't forget one of the great iron sets in the SS forged.
