need feedback on visual alignment system

I've been a fan of some of the familiar blade putters out there like the PING Ansers, some of the Scotties, the YES putters in general, but I'm wondering how many of you have tried the Seemore putters?

I need something very visual in nature for alignment in order to putt with any confidence, but have not yet been able to roll the various mallets out there just yet. I had in the past rolled a seemore on a store's putting green and did quite well with it ( I know, not the same as on a real green under pressure) and liked their alignment aids. I also noticed that most models were center shafted, and that on their website, in their "instruction" clips, that their putters are designed to be used with a pendulum stroke. I took this to mean a straight back and straight through motion, which I'm trying to groove. Debates about the merits of putting techniques aside, does anyone have some details of their experiences with these putters, before I'm forced to go the mallet route?

My Son, a +2, seems to do fairly well with his.

The alignment system and the center shaft is probably what I'm most interested in with these putters... I dunno why I didn't go ahead and buy one a few years ago when I first tried it... I loved it, but just didn't pull the trigger, for some reason :)

I got one last Fall (the brass FGP something or other was the model, looked like the one Stewart and Zach Johnson use/d. It had a pretty good feel to it being it's a brass head. The shaft was VERY soft (in terms of flexing at impact.) I never could quite get used to it. As far as the alignment system, I think it must work for some people and not for others. I found that I got too wrapped up in "hiding" the dot with the shaft. So much so that I forgot to aim at my target half the time. Maybe their newer "Money" mallet design is better in that regard, but I had a heckuva time aiming the thing.

 

Also, I had 2 of them sent to me. The first looked like it was from old stock in their warehouse and had been there for years. It had rusting and pitting all over the shaft! I was not happy to open the box to see that. The second one aesthetically was fine, but I just couldn't putt to save my life with it. At least they were cool about it and I returned it under their return policy and was issued a refund. I think it's a 30 day return policy.

 

Honestly, I think there are much better putters on the market. Taylor Made/Rossa AGSI and Guerin Rife 2 Bar come to mind, along with the Yes putters. I have all 3 of those and you can't go wrong with any of them. The Rife is my darling right now... :)

As stated before, many other great putters are available, you don't need the alignment aid. Try putting a line on your ball (.5"). Point the line at your target with the line on top, then line up the line on your putter with the line on the ball and pull the trigger. I've tried a lot of putters & always struggled with alignment until I switched to this system. My putting has really improved :)

Hmmm... more good feedback... this will make things verrrrry interestink (in the worst possible accent from Hogan's Heros)

 

I'm just going to have to plan a field trip to a pro shop and try out as many models as possible... isn't life horrible sometimes? :)
