more accurate?

I put a 4 hybrid in the bag a few weeks ago, and it just seems to me I spray that thing all over the place. I'm a pretty good iron player and I'm not afraid of long irons, but I thought I'd give the hybrid a try, but technically speaking would a 4 iron be more accurate than a 4 hybrid...I'm using steel in both BTW.

People have mixed results on which is more accurate. But, your 4 iron is probably an inch shorter than your 4H, so that would tend to give you a better chance hitting the center of the clubface. I carry a 4H as well. It took some getting used to, with that much loft on a "wood-like" club. But, I love it now.

I played a hybrid replacement for my 4i for a year or so. I got much better trajectory, but didn't really hit it very well.

 

I finally built a set of Wishon 321Li hybrids. These set up like my low offset irons and it made a world of difference. I now play hybrids in place of my 3i/7w, 4i, and 5i.

Technically speaking... no. Not to be a jerk but you are mishitting the hybrid. I had trouble with them and still won't touch one in a lower loft than 20*. The problem with the accuracy is probably directly related to the clubface angle at impact. Ball position with the hybrid was tough to get used to for me as my 3i hybrid is like a 6-7i ball position. If I let it creep up it gets ahead of the bottom of my swing and my release by a fraction. After some getting used to there is only 1 difference between my old 3i and my 3i hybrid, the hybrid absolutely dominates it out of the rough. Other than par 3 tee shots I'd say close to 90% of my shots that I need that yardage for are out of the rough. They don't call it a "rescue" for nothing, right? If I'm pulling the cover off that thing on any par 4, that means I pretty much choked big time with my tee shot.
