Profile - True Temper has attempted to combine the best of both shaft worlds by creating the TX-90. The TX-90 features the weight of a graphite shaft with the consistency and feel of a steel shaft. This lightweight shaft provides customers and clubmakers an alternative to traditional steel shafts.

What Makes It Work - The biggest draw here is the TX-90’s weight… or lack thereof. The shaft also features a very soft tip. This soft tip promotes a high ball and maxium carry… which means more distance for many golfers. These shafts also feature Speed-Step technology which helps increase velocity at impact.

Who's It For - I don’t know how many low handicappers consider the TX-90 as a real viable option… this shaft is designed for the golfer looking for a high ball flight. The TX-90 is a popular choice for the player looking for a lightweight shaft that feels good and provides decent feedback. I also sell a lot of these shafts to customers that want to reshaft a bigger head with a steel shaft. The TX-90 is a few years old but is still an upgrade offered by many of the big club manufacturers.

What People Say - There isn’t a massive demand for this shaft in my shop but the people that have gone with it really like it. The TX-90 has proved to be a popular shaft for the golfer that is moving away from graphite shafts but wants to stay with something that is still very lightweight. Mid to high handicappers enjoy the high ball flight but a better player would probably find it too high. We’ve sold numerous TX-90’s in fairway woods… some people like a very light shaft to help them achieve a “head heavy” feel.
