TourStage X-Blade CBs

Does anyone have any experience with these? Since Tourstage is not sold in the US anymore, it's very hard to find these to try them out. I'm thinking about buying a set from a co-worker but would like some insight before I make the purchase. How would they compare to the new J33 combos?

Long irons are almost identical to the 33's. Difference is that the cavity continues to the PW. They are quite forgiving,almost as much as my previous TS-202's,with a much thinner topline and less offset. Ballflight is a bit high but nothing that can't be dealt with. Lofts are very strong and the lie angles will probably have to be adjusted as they (as are most Japanese irons a bit "quirky"). Great Tourstage looks and feel. The DGSL S300's have been a great fit with these irons. I've had mine blueprinted also by Joe K and it was another great investment. I recommend them highly.

Japanese irons quite often come a degree or 2 flat in lie and a little bit short.

I currently own both the Tourstage X-Blade CB2 and J33 combo. The X-Blade is here with me now and the combos are at my parents home as a second set. Both sets have great feel with the X-Blade being a tad softer but this could be because of the shaft. I have the DG SL300 in the combos and Nippon NSPRO 950 in the X-blade. If I remember correctly the X-Blade topline appears to be a little thinner than the combos. A far as ball flight, again the shaft will have a big impact on this, the X-blades have a higher flight but its a penetrating flight. I find both sets are about equal as far as playability and forgiveness. As far as appearance, I give the nod to the X-Blades. They are just beautiful. Both are great irons and you won't be disappointed with either of them.
