NEED HELP LOW SPIN SHAFT

PARIO

Recommended Posts

I currently hit a r 510 tp with the fuji speeder 757 stiff. but i put way too much spin 3700rpm on the monitor.

hit it too high and never get any roll eventhough the speeder is sopose to be low spin. i have a good swing 3 hcp and hit about 85% of all fairways 106 swingspeed.

what are some low spin shafts out there that i could try? has anyone had to deal with this issue?

You can consider following alternative to lower down the spin rate for your tee shot.

1. lower head loft. Since you have high swing speed, higher loft will increase the trajectory and spin due to the impact.

2. Shaft Flex - try to move stiffer flex for helping you reduce the ball spin. Fjuji 757 is designed for high speed golfers, you could try to upgrade your shaft flex to extra stiff for reducing the spin rate.

3. low spin shafts - PM 702X, Fujikura Rombax 7V05 or Tour spec 70C, Diamana M83 might deliver the balls with low spin in my experience. These shafts provide not only low spin rate, but very stable performance with various power speed.

The first two points should solve your problems significantly, the third point will also consider your hitting feeling by changing the shaft. Hope it helps.

thank you! i recently got fitted for the r7 425 tp with the rombax 75 in stiff and was able to lower the spin to 2900 with the same swing. i love that driver but i aint gonna pay 600 for a driver. so i am considering the alternatives.

is the g5 a low spin head? a 9 g5 with a v2 75 stiff would probably do the trick and it would be half the price. any thoughts on that?

If you are looking for a cheaper shaft, Vista tour and V2 pro force is the definite in almost the same alley.

Accuflex ICON and Graffaloy NT proto 85 are some of your choice also ( plenty more if you really want to check and talk to me or your experience clubmakers ).

However not knowing how high is to high for you, i can give you an exact answer if the loft or the shaft that is the problem.

Some other factors also need to be calculate to be able to recommend.

No I believe the G5 is a high spinning head. I ballooned it like crazy on the range when comparing drivers. Give the Callaway Tour heads a try. They are pretty low spinning and the X460 can be had for a pretty good price.

hey guys i called taylormade and asked abot installing the vista tour and they dont offer it. i could get the diamana 73 put in for 150 bucks. will the diamana 73 give low spin and lower my launch? or will it perform like the speeder?

i asked about the v2 but it is not available for the r510 tp either.

i might send it in to them this way i can keep the warranty on the club i really like the feel and performance of this driver. for 150 the diamana will be worth it. i could get the v2 for $70 and have a local clubmaker install it for $40 but i would loose the warranty on the club.

I've played the Diamana73 and would not consider it to be low-launch or low-spin necessarily. I've played the Vista Tour and would agree with above comments. Have also played the Harrison Pro Titanium 2.5 and believe that would be a good alternative. Currently playing the PM702 and love it. Lower launch and spin than the Speeder 757.

Sounds like you playing the stock speeder in the R510-TP which means it is untipped and therefore not playing true to its flex. Pull the shaft, tip it 1/2" then extend the butt end 1/2" to recover the lost shaft length.

TaylorMade uses a very shallow bore depth, (1.25"), so the 757 really should be tipped to compensate for that. For other drivers with bore depths of 1.75" or greater, no tipping should be necessary for the 757.
