Understanding bore through shafts

My question is... I am fixing to purchase a Titleist 905R I was wondering if I need to go with a reg. flex vs. a stiff flex because of the bore through. I have a swing speed of 108 mph. The shaft is the V2 76 gram in a reg flex. I have tried to hit a stiff in the 75 gram purple ice in it and I could not get it to square up. Thanks for any info.

I picked mine up this morning and had them check the CPM, standard 45" V2 76 stiff at 260cpm.

The problem here is though the Purple Ice has an extra long tip for borethrus...the midsection is so stiff that full insertion into a Titleist turns it into a piece of rebar. It's not really detectable by freq meter. I played and progressively tipped a PI by 1/4" increments to figure it out as well as gauging feedback from some good players I know. I don't use PI much anymore....too sensitive to tipping to be able to really nail the flex consistently.

My swingspeed is roughly the same as yours, I'm about 105-110 mph and I had the Red Diamana 73X installed 2 inches into my 905R as Mitsubsihi recommends for bore thru heads for stiffer performance and it works just fine for me. I don't think you should even consider the regular flex. If anything possibly go with the X.
