Hey guys, I was just wondering why John left Dunlop and went to Taylormade.

Yes, he's representing Maxfli which is owned by Taylormade/Addidas. On the Daly Planet, they showed him at TM headquarters getting fitted for his clubs. All 14 clubs and the ball will be TM/Maxfli.

 

I guess he felt that he would be more competitve with TM clubs vs. Dunlop. He said that he felt that TM had the best equipment on tour including the number one driver.

He didn't completely leave Focus Golf (Dunlop parent company).

 

He signed a deal to be a Adidas/Maxfli/TaylorMade staff player, but also signed a 15 year, yes 15 year, deal with Focus Golf to market the John Daly line of equipment.

 

John Daly would've been crazy from a pure business sense not to sign a deal with a big name company who came calling, and likewise is very loyal to anybody who supports him and sees something in him other than just a fat alcoholic who plays golf. Focus Golf did that and although they don't have him on their "tour staff" he's still very much a part of the Dunlop family.
