Tested new 10.5 FT-3

Went to a demo day at my local golf course and they had Taylormade, Callaway, Nike, Cobra, Titleist, Srixon, Bridgestone, and Cleveland with all their toys! First time I was able to test some drivers that I've never tried before. Of course I went to try out some fairway woods .

 

I have a 9.5 FT-3 with V2 but I'm seriously considering trading it in for a 10.5 FT-3 after seeing the results. I have a hard time getting enough spin to keep it in the air but the new 10.5 loft makes a huge difference. Definately recommended for players not getting enough air time with their current 9.5s. I was hitting the 10.5 FT-3 slightly lower than the 9.5 X460 Tour. My most consistent drives of the day were with the 9.5 X460 Tour which I already own. It's amazing how forgiving it is compared to all the other drivers. No surprise there since I was professionally fitted for it about a month ago. Sheesh, I might have to go back to my Callaway toys now....the life of a club ho!

 

Looked like the most popular drivers at the tents were the X460 and SQ.

What shaft was in the 10.5? Also what shaft is in your x-460?

 

Do you mind giving out some of your swing stats? I am looking at these drivers and like to go into the hitting session with as much info about the shaft / clubhead combos as possible.

I hope I like the 10.5: I ordered the 10.5 (tour obviously) with the Fujikura 23.6 Tour Platform S.

 

This gave me a ball flight a lot better than the NVS (driver ss 113, medium to slow tempo)

I currently own a 9* FT-3 and I'm seriously considering trading it in for the X460. IMO the X has more feeling in the club head, wouldn't you agree?
