BTW, Raptor is closed for "conditioning" but from what I saw of it today, it looked really good. Talon was in very good condition, especially considering they get 200 rounds/day on weekdays and like 350 on weekends!

Today was my first time playing either course and I found the rough around the greens to be the most difficult aspect of the course. Not overly long, just dense and "grabby" as hell. I guess it wouldnt matter if you just hit every green hahaha

Greens were very smooth and true but also very receptive.

Haha i feel like calvins gonna find a way to get me like he usually does. Btw anyone interested in an optional 5 or 10 dollar skins game. Dont have anything in the way of giveaways this time but skins game could make it fun and everyone would have a good shot at winning a skin. No pressure on having to feel like you need to play the skins game if your not cool with it. I know some guys said they are not gambler so no biggie. Also tomorrow is the last day to enter. Would like to get around 20 this time.

I played the Prospector about a month and half ago and it was in complete s***, just the typical summer condition you would expect out here in Arizona.

But last week when I played Lost Gold it actually wasn't bad. Granted it wasn't in premier course condition, but besides the occasional brown spots and slow green, it was playable.

Man that last hole on Lost Gold is brutal. 470 par 4, into the wind. Water all along left side from 100 yards out from the green. Hit into the water to make double and lost the match. :mad:

Just got back from playing the Raptor course over there. It's one of the favorites I've played all summer, I think this is the the first or second day the Raptor has been re-opened, I believe they've been working on the greens this last week? (not sure on that) but they rolled true and this was an overall "fun" course to play. I played from the 1 up's as I always do the first time out on a new course and shot well, just like most well designed desert courses you really have to play smart as they've placed the trouble right where you can find it even if you're a better ball striker. I shot my best round of the season there today so I'm excited for the event!

I'm playing in an event out there Friday. Not sure which course. Should be a nice warmup for Sunday. I'll probably be totally beat down by then, given my experiences at other JN courses.

As for conditions, I think this summer has been particularly tough at a lot of places. Things are improving with the monsoon humidity and most will be in superb shape for September. (just in time to rip them up for the overseed... )

No worries Alan. I like the 18 number that will leave 2 open spots for any last minute additions. Since they wont fill those spots with strangers. Format is stroke play and just a bunch of us getting together for some fun and to admire each others gear.

I will be there around 7:30 to greet everyone and make sure everything is in order. Range balls are included so feel free to give yourselves plenty of warmup time.

For those of you that will be coming up Pima Road be advised there is a permanate photo radar camera just past the AJ'S shopping center about 1 mile from the freeway.
