It wouldn't make sense to release a club that will be non confirming in few months.
I disagree.

People will buy the wedges to stockpile them as they wont be able to be made by the OEM's from next year

In my area i'm at a CC that is much more golf focused, its more Golf Club than CC but we have a pool, so you get the idea. Out of a lot the players there i ask them about the new groove rule and they have no clue about, and could really care less.

So in most situations the reason why people know about the groove rule is cause they are on GolfWRX.

The total percentage of golfers on GolfWRX, maybe 5%, the percentage of them that will stock pile irons, maybe 20%.

No manufacturer is going to release a wedge counting on golfers to stock pile them.

I think sometimes people forget how GolfWRX does not represent 99% of the golfers out there.
i read in the other thread they will not conform originally, but once january 1st rolls around, they will start milling them to conform.
That sounds a little rediculous for an OEM to produce a product for a couple of months then retool everything to conform at the first of the year. That sounds like an exspensive process IMO.

The 2010 grove rules only affect Tour players not everyone else. The MP T-10 wedges do not conform to the new rule but Mizuno will make a Tour only MP T-10 C wedge that will. The wedges can be used for Elite Am Tournaments until 2014 and the rest of us until 2025.
The MP T-10 wedge will come in two finishes: White Satin and Raw Black Satin with lofts up to 64-07. I was able to see them in person the other day and they look great.

I would've thought most OEMs will produce a choice of two wedge grooves no?
What's the point of saying 2024 for average Joe if he cant get hold of an aggressive groove for 14 years? I never got the fact that all OEMS will stop all production of square groove wedges on Jan 1st. 14 years is a long time in golf. In 1995 how big were driver heads?

I wonder how many people on here are so worried about the new grooves actually play in PGA events? It's like people live in fear of change and focus on their immediate reaction, not calm down and research the facts. As posted above, if you don't play in PGA events, the grooves don't matter until 2014 for USGA sanctioned Amateur events and 2025 for non USGA sanctioned events. Are you planning on using the wedge you buy in 2009 all the way until 2014? That's 5 years with 1 wedge... If you're not going for USGA events, that's 16 years with 1 wedge.

I do think that once manufacturers stop square grooves in January, people will be buying enought wedges to last them until the 2014 USGA event timeline. I could stretch a good wedge to 2 years of play so I'd need about 3 wedges with the old grooves to last me until 2014.
