Why did you stop using your Odyssey White Steel 2-Ball putter?

It felt great on the practice green, but could not get a good feel for it while playing. The alignment aid was great pre-shot, but my open/square/closed putting stroke felt really funny with those two balls.

I went back to my Scotty Cameron Napa.

It felt great and put a decent roll on the ball. Good training putter for alignment, but I would get a headache looking at 3 balls. So I went to a Cleveland Classics VI a blade putter, I just feel more comfortable with the blade and the Cleveland puts a much better roll on the ball and feels so much softer coming off the face.

I found the size of the insert too small, leading to distance inconsistencies. Admittedly I made a couple of bad strokes, but I would like a consistent feel across the entire face.

I went to Ping Craz-E, then a Monza Corza, then a Bettinardi Big Ben and now use a Rossa Maranello TP, although I am eyeing a Scotty or original Ping Anser.

I had the White Hot 2-Ball Blade for over a year. On the short stuff, the 2-Ball was very good, but the longer the putt the worse my ability to control distance. After a while I started to feel that the insert was too soft. I tried the DFX 2-Ball blade but it felt too hard.

I like trying everything out in the store, especially the higher MOI mallets and center-shafters. Ultimately, I snagged a Bettinardi Big Ben when they were discontinued which turned out to be just perfect for me. The setup looks perfect and the distance control was great. The only thing wrong with it was that I've only seen them in 35" shaft, and I prefer 33". I have 3 of these now (they're cheap even when new these days), but I'm afraid to cut down my first one for fear of letting the mojo out!

I've been buying up lots of different putters lately when they show up cheap locally or on eBay. The Bobby Grace putters are really cheap and are quite awesome. I liked the new Ping UG-LE enough in the store that I popped for one (and immediately found that I didn't like it as much on a real green as on carpet).

And last week, I snagged a new 2-Ball White Steel Blade 2. I had tried the original White Steel Blade in the stores and I think the insert feels (and sounds) great, but I didn't like the bend shaft vs. the crank neck that was on my old 2-Ball Blade. The newer model has the neck, and I'm looking forward to giving it a try.

Well, I love putters, currently have 13. When I switched from the 2 ball I went to the Corza which performed very well for me. I liked the idea of weight adjustability with the Corza and that was my main reason for the switch. However, the 2 ball is still one of my favorites, and one of only 2 center shafted putters I own.
