what did u like?
I just went to 2 demo days this weekend and they were great. I hit EVERYTHING as always!! Anyway, here is my list of winners and losers (only drivers)

Winners: Nike SQ, 905R, Cobra F Speed, FT3, G5

OK/Losers: Both r7s, X460, Adams redline, Hi-Bore

I currently have a Taylormade r580xd. I like taylormade but am not the biggest r7 fan. I like the 460 r7, but it wasn't my favorite. I was surprised by the Titleist 905r since i never like their drivers. Also, I am not a huge Cobra fan, but the F-speed was nice. Just don't like the sound cobras make. The Hi-Bore is OK, but i don't like the feel at impact. I am sure many love it, but i am not a big fan. The Adams was alright and both Callaways were pretty good. My dad has an FT-3 and it is nice. The g5 was pretty darn good. I felt that the best for me was the Nike SQ. I will probably trade my r580x for a Sasquatch.

What are your thought on all of the clubs at Demo Days?

Hey,

Welcome to the forum I hope you are enjoying. I've hit just about everything with every combo including custom done clubs that have been tinkered with to fit me, you can search the forum as I have posted a few reviews here, and here is what I have thought:

I'll rank each one by the characteristics that they are suited for -

Drivers:

Forgiving - (in no particular order)

Cleveland Hi Bore

Nike SQ

Taylor Made R7 460

Callaway FT-3

Ping G5

Distance -

Taylor Made R7 425 TP

Ping G5

Cleveland Hi Bore

Callaway FT-3 Tour

Workability -

Taylor Made R7 425 TP

Callaway FT-3 Tour

Fairway woods -

Long off the tee/fairway -

Taylor Made TP

Cleveland Launcher Comp

Ping G5

Callaway X Tour

Forgiving/ easy to get off ground -

Cleveland Launcher Comp

Ping G5

Callaway x tour

Workable -

Taylor Made R7 TP

Cleveland Launcher Comp

Irons -

Players irons - (only thing I test)

Cleveland CG1/2 - buttery soft feel w/ great control and workability while not totally sacrificing forgiveness.

Titleist 660 - Standard somewhat clicky feel of titleist's forged offerings, very flat/thick topline as compared to the clevelands.

Titleist 695 - somewhat softer feeling w/ a better look at setup than the 660, topline not quite as flat and thick.

Wedges -

Cleveland CG10 - great wedges with lots of spin and buttery soft feel. Great compliment to any set of CG line irons. Provide nice feel around the greens and on full wedge shots, tho the black pearl finish is still not particularly durable

Callaway X Tour - great shaped wedges for those looking for a thin topline and a straighter leading edge. nice finish on these wedges, somewhat better than the old vintage finish.

-Had my demo day in the pouring rain today, so it was pretty tough to get a fair judgement of each club. However, I was still able to get a pretty good feel of what I did and what I did not like.

Callaway FT-3: Not a bad club. Solid feel and a lively face. However, the face just feels too shallow and the ping is a strange, unappealing, high pitched sound. Not bad overall though.

Cleveland HiBore: Awful. Maybe it was just the fact that this thing does not appeal to me visually at all. The distance was pretty good, but there is no way I could ever get over the look of this club.

Nike SQ: Incredibly hot face. A true contender for distance. I just think the head looks too deep from the face to the very back of the club. Otherwise, I was surprised by Nike with this one.

Ping G5: Ping always makes a good club. I felt the G5 was very forgiving and very long. An excellent choice.

Taylor Made r7 425: Great driver with distance and forgiveness. The adjustable weight system is a clear cut advantage. This ranks in my top 2. Also, the RE-AX shaft doesn't feel that bad for a stock shaft.

Titleist 905R: Hit this with a Proforce V2 and felt the combo was great. Very nice, solid feeling driver. But as some have complained, I felt the face was just a little on the shallow side. A slightly deeper face would have put this club in the bag.

-So those are my findings for the day. Based on what I got to hit today, I think I will stick with my original combination, which was the r7 425 9.5 with a UST V2 stiff. Can't wait to get a hold of this club.

Out of the last demo day that I went to, two clubs stood out to me big time.

The Adams A2 hybrid, perhaps the best combination of a ball flight that's high but not ridiculously high and is still forgiving. Looks great at address and feels very good. I didn't think Adams had a club like this in them.

Cobra forged SS irons. They look awesome visually throughout the set and feel great. Forgiving in the long irons and very controllable in the short irons. I'm very surprised that these don't get more publicity. Perhaps the most underrated clubs on the market now. If I hadn't just bought my 704's I would be playing these.
