Tiger's wedge bounce

how about you?

I'd assume that almost all the people here have seen the old comercials where Tiger does his "wedge bounce"...so... what is your guys' records?? mines somewhere around 250, but this is when I'm on a par three, and when the group in front leaves the green, and it's time to tee it up, and wait until the next par 3. my longest shot after bouncing it up is 120 yards w/ a 56º wedge. also, i can bounce it normally in front of myself, through my legs, and all the way behind my back, i can also get it to stop on the face of the club and walk around with it not falling off, as well bouncing it from club-shoe-club, but have been having a hard time "catching" the ball when it has bounced above my head, something Tiger can do...how about all of you???

i can go until the minor tendionitis in my wrist starts to give me pain, me record is prolly somewhere around 200

I don't really do it much, but I will give you this, it does help with hand-eye coordination. My record has to be around 75-80.

I can do it with a hockey stick and puck much longer than I can with a wedge...my record probably 40-50ish if that...

I don't know how many bounces I have done but I once went nearly thirty minutes. When I was a kid some mates and I used to have contests, we'd both start at the same time and you kept going until the other person dropped one.

 

Here's an interesting variation, grab two wedges, one in each hand and bounce the ball between them, that'll test out the old hand eye thing. I used to be able to do it quite well, I just tried it a minute ago and all I can say is it's one of those things you need to practice!

I always have a hard time geting it to stop on the face of the club and walk around with it not falling off, but I can catch it when I pop it over my head, you just have let the ball follow the clubhead. Also with a 60* lob, I'll pull a phil & hit it backwards with a flipy release on an up slope. Top that :golfer:

I have never counted but I can do it for awhile. I can do it normally, under my leg, between my legs, stop it on the face, walk around bouncing it and while it is stopped. Can't do behind the back and never tried to hit it-fraid I was gunna hit/break sumthing.

I read the title to this thread and thought it was talking about the degrees of bounce in his sand wedge. Anyway, I can't do this at all, 10 times maybe tops.

Did 512 right handed this past winter while stood in pro shop bored. Just did 2 with my left hand!!!

 

How much harder is it left handed!!

Did this a lot a few years ago... I had to try today and I stopped at 300 - It was probably on my 10th try

Can't stop the ball on the clubface though...

I do this when I play with my team during the season, especially at the big tournaments. We generally play HORSE or PIG with tricks. My personal favorite is the dual wedge bounce over the head (meaning the person has 2 wedges and bounces the ball ove his head and continues to bounce it on the other club, quite tricky.)
