RAC TM Yellow Flag Wedge

Everyone,

I searched the archives on this one, and found a few related items, but nothing that helps pin it down for certain. Can the knowledgable among us shed some light on this one?

I picked up on the cheap a RAC wedge at one of my local used club shops. This is a 60 deg 7 bounce wedge that is satin finished, but doesn't have "satin" on the flange. It has a yellow flag that looks to be original (I know these things can be spoofed with a little paint). The face has mill marks, but they were a little finer than the Satin marked 60 TM red flag wedge that was in the rack with it. The club also has 16 grooves. The red flag satin 60 had 15 (I did catch the post about the 15/16 meaning nada in terms of retail/tour).

Is this a Japanese retail wedge?

One thing to check is if it either has two dots on the hosel or if it has a Y on the face, which signifies this wedge as a Y Cutter Prototype.

^^yes, that is exactly what you need to do, check for the 2 dots on the hosel, because i hae two y-cutter satin wedges that i got strait off the taylormade tour van, but it has that 2 dots on the hosel, if you hold the club strait up the 2 dots should be vertical to you, my weges do have the yellow flag but dont have the y-stamp either, but i think thats because i am left handed and they dont make them with the y-stamps on them.

HI All,

I have one of these. 54 degree that I carry from a touch over 100 to 105-7

It has the two small pinhole dots on the back of the hosel. Stainless steel without the satin marks, and yellow flag. Often I will let people I am playing with take a swing on course to the green (It has an old model rifle PX 6) and they are amazed at how low it flies but they can spin it well.

For reference, three weeks after I bought mine for a steal ($110 AND I got a cleveland cg10 mint cond) I holed out a wedge shot for eagle at Montauk Downs here on Long Island.

I keep the face clean on my wedges, and even after about 60 rounds they still spin a ton Even with the new <-----ProV1----->
