Those are beautiful. How are these different from the '05 models? Have you played these yet or did you just receive them? I would love a review of them as am I trying to decide if I want to pick up a set of the Scratch AR-1 CBs myself.

These are Ari's personal set, not mine. I have hit an awful lot of irons out there & currently play a set of Nike Blades. I love them, Miura Forged & Tour Issued, blueprinted to my specss, perfect ball flight & I really like the Swoosh.... But I am looking for something a little special in terms of performance. I have hit the Scratch Tour Blade and Classic Blade. IMHO the Tour Blade is the perfect club for the majority of players out there. If you take the 690.MB / MP-33 and set up the grind for you, then you got a forgiving, perfect looking blade that will always deliver. The old school CB was real nice too, but not much different from the Tour Blade IMHO. The Classic blade is a fantastic piece of work, the heel toe measurement is ridiculously small & they look pure at address, however I would not recommend them to anyone that struggles 2 - 5 irons. Perfect combo set irons though, 6 - Pw.

As for the AR-1s, I have not personally hit them. I have many a friend that has & a lot are not Scratch converts. The wedges did not win them over as Tour Vokeys & RAC Y-Cutters were already ground to suit them, but they believe the AR-1 is unlike any iron out there. Praise indeed. What is so special about the AR-1s is the fact that Scratch get the grind to fit you perfectly, but on a purely cosmetic front they can reshape the muscle, the topline, the toe grind, the depth of the grooves, the way the hosel meets the face, the finish, the plating, the stamping, et al. You can get an iron that flat out performs & also looks perfect to your eye.

Easiest set of irons i have ever hit, and they are on par with soft feel yet solid strike with my others favourites!

I know this is an old thread but DAMMIT THESE IRONS ARE COOL. I'm starting to think I need a set like the onsets above.

I think they can even put a square toe like the i5's have...

I just received a set of Scratch AR-1s with the slider grind shafted with Aerotech Steelfibers i95 and i110 in JLM Wedges. My "normal" set is great (not custom except for the choice of grind), not much offset, not too smallish, perform like an i5 in terms of forgiveness (well almost, but not quite) but is forged, less offset, nice topline, thinner sole, less bounce, and longish. These were as long or longer than a Mizuno MX-900 and MX-25 that were in a demo cart next to me. Nice clubs.

Those are pretty. But I would prefer them to be a bit shinier so to speak. A little buffing and those would be drop dead gorgeous.

Our standard JLM sets of irons are made in Satin Chrome and go for $1199.

The Tour Department irons where you get to choose all the specs go for $1999. We offer 8 differrent finishes in the TD clubs including Polished Chrome.

Let me add that these irons go through the turf better than any set of irons I've ever owned. I get the perfect dollar bill shallow divot with the slider/driver grind.

Playing with the correct grind makes it a whole lot easier to hit the kinds of shots you want to hit without having to manipulate your swing. Much easier to play clubs that fit your swing than try to change your swing to fit your clubs. We are the only company that does any kind of fitting for sole grind on irons but it is extremely important.
