Whats the BEST Fairway wood

Is it the V Steel?

I was wondering, in your opinion, what manufacturer makes the best fairway wood. I am thinking about getting a set of V steels, however, since feedback is excellent here I thought I would ask your opinions. THANKS.

I have the V steel 13 deg, and if I tee the ball, I can almost hit it as far as my driver.

 

But I heard tour exoutic is the best fairway wood out there right now.

The best fairway wood question will get a hundred different answers.

 

In my opinion, the best ever fw is the 970's.

 

my current favorites are: Callaway Fusion and Titleist 904f.

 

I did not care for the Exotics fw, and i have not hit my F3-05 to date.

 

On my want to buy list: Titleist 906f and SP-14.

 

V-steel's are nice fw clubs, but not my favorite.

You should check out the Mizuno F-50. Awesome club.

I'm a Titleist whore but the T-60 wipes the floor with everything else I've tried.

for me the nike t-60 edges out the v-steel, but if you think the t-60 is too deep of a face, than the v-steel is the winner. both are forgiving, and long. the v-steel is a little higher trajectory than the nike, and the nike is a little longer. both work well hitting into a green.

You're going to get mighty confused on this one, because other than putters, I don't think there's a more personal piece of equipment than the fiarway wood. Take a look at the pros bags, usually the one club they usually play out of their contract is their fairway metal (Phil played V steels when he won the '04 Masters, Tiger hung onto his 970 forever, Freddie uses his S2H2 Callaway, etc.)

 

Demo, demo, demo, find what fits your eye and swing.

 

With that said, to me, Sonartec offers more playability off the tee and fairway than any other fairway metal on the market.

It's gotta be the R7TP fwy..

 

LONG, ACCURATE, easy to hit it high, and distance is amazing...

 

i used to play V-steel, and V-steel is also a great fwy,

 

these are the top two i'd pick..

V-Steel hands down! I have a 15* and 21* with the stock steel shafts in a "s" flex and I can just rely on these things unlike any other fairway i have tried.

For the price it is certainly hard to beat the V-Steel. I love my 3 and my 5. I actually just ordered an older Nike NDS to see how it compares to the TM but I am sure I will sell it the day after I try it out at the range.

I've played the v-steel and it is a really good club, but my favorite is the 200 smoothy.

The best for me would have to be the Tour Edge Exotic as far as length goes. I think the best overall fairway would is the Callaway FT-3. It is plenty long for me and more accurate then the EXotic. Prolly has everything to do with the shaft but Cally still gets my vote.

I'm in the minority here but I still love my Callaway War Bird 3. I can hit it anyhow, anytime, anywhere, any-you name it.

Seems to me, depends a little on how you want to use it. I use my ping g5 3wd as a second driving club and very rarely off the deck. It is very long on the tee but seems too big to hit reliably off the deck.

I do have a V steel that I put in the bag for courses where hit off the deck more often. It is much more versatile.

Personally it's a close race between the V steel and the T60, with the T60 winning the race currently (just by a little). The T60 is just a little more solid feeling IMO...but both are solid solid fwy woods.

For my nothing beats the Tour Edge Exotics fairway wood.
