UPDATED: Masters Contest Standings after Day 2

Look near the last post for D2 standings.

This is not a very scientific approach, but it does give you an idea where you stand. Because the contest is based on final standings and the money earned and players can change positions very rapidly over the next few days, I devised a simple ranking system to show relative strength of your picks.

After Day 1 scores, you get points based on the rankings of the players you picked.

Top 5 - 1 pt
6 - 10 - 2 pts
11 - 15 - 3 pts
16 - 20 - 4 pts
21 - 25 - 5 pts

and so on...

I add up all your points and the lowest totals are doing the best since they have the most players near the top of the leaderboard and therefore more chances for a win.

I know, not exactly accurate, but it gives you an idea where your picks stand in relation to the field.

Here are the standings after day 1. Check back after Day 2 to see how this can change in a hurry.

I was trying to do something different this year, I was trying to see how many guys I could pick who (DIDN'T) make the cut. If I'm not mistaken, half of my team missed the cut, I'd call that a success. :shout: Sort of. :D

One thing different about this major contest compared to lots of others, the big 5 made the cut and just about everyone has a piece of it. With Tiger not leading at the moment, it keeps it more suspenseful who will win.

 

Only 19 missed the cut, but at least 50 or so were on the bubble.

I don't know where you get the 191. All those who missed the cut had no score and tied for 194th place.

 

As for Duval, he can't quit until he collects all the money he has coming to him. But those exemptions and Nike contract won't last forever.

 

Forget Duval, what's the excuse of regular tour players missing the cut like DiMarco! or David Toms or KJ Choi. And Fred Funk, everyone's darling barely finished ahead of Duval.
