Grafalloy BiMatrx Prototype Coming To Retail

Hello everyone… hope you all had a chance to catch a bit of the Masters… or at least see some of the highlights. You know spring is just around the corner now. I’ve got some odds and ends for you today… and some exciting news for all of our readers looking for some more golf club reviews!<a id="more-583"></a>

The title of this post says it all… <a href="http://www.grafalloy.com">Grafalloy’s website</a> is now featuring the BiMatrx Prototype in a couple of different colors. Some of you may be familiar with this shaft already… some Tiger guy plays it and it has caused a bit of an internet stir lately. If you haven’t seen it… here is an overview. The BiMatrx is a combination shaft (much like the BiMatrx of a few years ago)… a graphite shaft with a steel tip. This combination allows for high launch and low spin… two things that most players are looking for. The BiMatrx was a popular shaft a few years ago but having a guy like Tiger playing this one gives it some serious credibility. No word on price or release date but we’ll pass it on as soon as we get it!

Hogan Golf has unveiled a new line of Apex wedges. These will be available in three different models… a 52 degree with 8 degrees of bounce, a 56 degree with 12 degrees of bounce and a 60 degree with 8 degrees of bounce. The new Apex wedges also feature new grooves for maximum spin and a new sole grind for maximum versatility. Watch for these in stores starting April 15th.

I had a chance to hit the Wilson Nc6 irons today. This is an iron that many of you have probably never heard of. The Nc6 was first introduced in the Asian market but it will be coming to North America. I don’t have a lot of details on where and when but my Wilson guy seemed to think that these were only going to come to Canada and we might not ever see them in the United States. Regardless… these things are awesome. Picture the TaylorMade R7 CGB’s with a thinner top line. They are really easy to hit and the TPU insert gives them a very solid feel across the face (kind of like the Fusion irons). The Nc6 feature a 4-piece construction… a stainless steel body, a maraging face, a TPU insert and L-pods (weights) in the heel and the toe. They also come stock with a V2 shaft and Golf Pride Dual Durometer grips. The L-pods are different weights and materials depending on the iron… giving the golfer maximum forgiveness and game improvement. The longer irons feature tungsten weights in the toe, the mid irons feature neutral heel-toe weighting and the shorter irons have more weight in the heel. I think that’s all I’ve got for now. Just a quick website update for you before I go. The weather is getting warm and we should be able to start our golf club reviews soon. SirPutts and I haven’t set a date yet but we’re hoping to have our 2nd annual “24 in 24″ next month. For those of you that didn’t get to see our first one… we review 24 clubs in 24 hours. It’s a lot of work but people really seem to like it. I’ll let you know when we come up with a date. We’re also hoping to do some clothing posts in the next few weeks. We talk about golf equipment everyday but sometimes we have the urge to change it up bit… so don’t be shocked if you see a apparel post or two soon.
