695 mb or 660mb
Well guys
I need your help.Im an assistant pro who has been using 690cbs for the past year.Im 6'3 tall.My specs are 4 degrees upright,an inch longer, dyn gold S-300shafts,and close enough to mid size grips...freakish specs right!!!!!!!!!
Well anyway I want to change.I love the look of the new 695mbs,the only thing is that they have a narrow sole so if you have a bit of a steep swing, they tend to dig a bit, then theres the 660mb,now they have a larger sole but Im not sure of the look.I ordered a set of the 735's(forged,didnt like the stainless) but they only come 1/2 an inch long and 2 degrees upright as the rep from Titleist told me so I had to send them back.
Im also looking for info on the shafts.Im not quite happy with the S-300,I find that I sometimes get a lot of "dead" hits of them and I also heard that the old 690cb were heal weighted so Im in a bit of a mess....so would really appreciate any help.....cheers guys.

Ian

the 695cb has a slightly wider sole than the 660 which have a wider sole than the 695mb.....

660 hit the ball much higher than the the 695 series but is also less forgiving. Yes the 660s suit a steeper swinger, but they are scarey small in the long irons.

I was in the same dilema as yourself...i wanted mbs the 695mb hadnt enough bounce or wide enugh sole so it was between the cbs or the 660. Due to the scarey size of the 5,4,3 irons i decided on the cbs!

hope this helps

I know 4 degrees upright.I have tried to hit something a bit more standard but just keep hitting the ball on the toe of the club...and ive just found out that to get 4 degrees upright in the 695 mbs is going to be a problem...problem being the chrome might crack if they are bent past 4 degrees.God Im going to crack up.

You might want to have the lie spec checked on your 690cbs, when Titleist went to the 690.cb design, they made the club 2 degrees more upright since they had a ton of buyers that were ordering the club (690cb) with the more upright lie anyway...

Sounds like you might only be 2 degrees upright from the new 690.cb lie which was carried over to the new models (704, 735, 775, 804, 695, 660, 670, etc...)

Hi,

I played the 690 cb's with S300 shafts and being 6' 2 myself got the shafts 1/2inch longer, have recently been fitted for the 695 mb's and have switched to True Temper XL Tour Shafts 3/4 inch longer ,these shafts are lighter and are designed for longer specs, great feel and the clubs and this shaft are a great combination.I hope this helps.

Jody.

Neither the 695 or 660 can be bent past 2*. The reason you're hitting the ball on the toe is not the lie angle, but probably the length. More probable it's because of your very steep-out to in swing path. That is why you're 4* up, and that is why you're hitting it off the toe. More than likely. Good Luck to you.

Heheheheh, Ian, I am about 5 foot 5 inches tall... I have a long torso, and 28 inch, yes, that is two-eight inch inseams. I have worked really hard to "try" and eliminate any tendancy to pull up and out of the shot, via strengthening my core, so when my equipment evaluation is done, I could conceivably be in the neighborhood of 4 degrees + flat... we are definately unique individuals, LOL!
