To softstep or not?

or just go to R300

Just got off the phone with Cally, and they don't offer the R400 or S200 in the Xtour...So, I am looking for some input on softstepping...who has done it? what do y'all think? How does it affect performance?

I love the clubs, but the s300 just seem like too much shaft...100-105 SS driver, 85-90 SS 6 iron...Smooth tempo, not a big "loader", I love the control of the S, but prefer the feel of the R...I love the DG series and happy with the ball flight...FWIW, the TT site states for me "S300"...As for the DGSL's, I just can't give up the weight as my tempo requires a heavier shaft...

So, would you softstep the S300 or go for the R300??

FWIW I got got a nice used set of Xtours with DNG S300.My SS is slower than yours (Dr 95-100.).I think the combo is excellent as is.I played MX23s last year with the stock Dynalite Gold S300 and although they had a nice "lively" feel they ballooned with the softer type.Don,t know if what I said makes any sence to you on shafts,but I can tell you I have had 15 sets of irons(mostly forged) in last 10 years and these are right up there.You will like them.
