Bridgestone J33

Recommended Posts

The New Bridgestone J33 utility clubs are designed for golfers who are more comfortable hitting a woods from long distance. The J33 Utility Woods blend several features to offer precise long approach shots with a more playable trajectory with added forgiveness and control.

The Bridgestone J33 Utility Woods' heads are crafted from 17-4 stainless steel. The addition of an elastomer compound insert within the club head helps to deaden vibration at impact, creating a more efficient energy transfer.

To make it easier to get the ball airborne and to facilitate a more penetrating ball flight a tungsten weight in the sole of the club lowers the center of gravity, producing more accurate high-trajectory shots.

Bridgestone J33 Utility Woods also feature a Tour Camber Sole design for enhanced heel, toe and trailing edge relief.

18° w/ accra m4 hf shaft tipped to play to an X....didn't really like it, the face was way too long from head to toe, hit a lot of shots really high and to the right. not really sure why the face is long from head to toe, I guess maybe a bigger sweet spot, but I just felt like I couldn't cover the ball and turn it over, or even keep it straight.

love it. very long. extremely workable. easy to draw, easy to fade.. easy to hit a slight power fade or a punch draw. very versatile.. 35 yard range with different shots. great soft but solid feel.

i've tried every hybrid including the tm rescue tp's and callaway fusion, halo, sonartec, everything... i'd pay double for the bridgestone.

Anymore reviews on these Bridgestone hybrid clubs, not the AirMuscle. Thanks.

I'm now a 13 out of 14 Bridgestone convert from the UK and my 18 degree utitilty is the pick of the bunch. I get an effortless 220-230 low draw (driver SS around 105) with lovely feel and a solid sound. It's my goto club off the tee and also works pretty well out of the rough. The only downside is it's hard (for me) to hit a higher, softer landing cut. This is probably down to the NV 85 shaft which is great for power and stablilty but does promote a lower flight. All in all a great club but it's definitely more utility than rescue...

I've finally put a hybrid back in the bag--the J33 18* and I love it....most hybrids were "hook monsters" for me in the past, but the J33 has no draw bias for me...I hit it about 225 with pretty much a straight ball flight...great off the tee on short par 4's, easy to hit from both the rough and fairwy as well....Even with the NV-85 shaft, ball flight is fairly on the high side for me, but doesn't balloon---definitely lands soft.

I'd kind of like to check out these hybrids but if you can believe it the geniuses in sales at Bridgestone haven't managed to get one single J33 hybrid stocked into any golf shop in this great city of 8-million people that I live in...

...I mean correct me if I'm wrong, but aren't hybrids kind of all the rage right now? and Bridgestone can't manage to sell a single solitary one in all of New York City...?

sales manager oughta be fired.

Great hybrid - no hooks any more.

Nice head shape - a bit long from head to toe, but nothing to worry about.

The result: Nice boring trajectory, long and straight.

Just as good a hybrid as my 585H and my Rescue Dual TP :(

Thanks, now maybe I don't have to try the 585H. Toss up between a Halo 22 w/ DG SL 300 or J33 21U w/ Aldila NV 85. Which one do you think is better? I need a 3 iron replacement and my next club is 19* 904F 5 wood.

All I can say is that you will have a hard time finding a better hybrid for the price - it's $50 less than the Titleist 585H and in my view just as great a hybrid.

I think I saw the J33 Hybrid cheap at some store....I'll have to check up on that....I'll be back tomorrow with information on this matter....I think the price was below $100 with the Aldila Nv85 shaft....brand new still in plastic.

EDIT: I forgot to answer regarding the Halo hybrid. The Halo is more forgiving than the J33 and with a higher ball fligth, not as boring and in my view for the high handicapper while the J33 hybrid are for the better player - but still pretty forgiving on mishits. I also don't fancy the head shape of the Halo, while i LOVE the headshape of the J33 hybrid.

I just got mine for a christmas present and it is absolutely amazing. I played the first round with it yesterday and it is long. I used to own rescue mid with precision rifle shaft and didn't really like it. it was hook biased, not even draw. When I bought this the face was square and the shots did everything my swing told it to do. caught a birdie on par 3 with 210 yards. It is an amazing club and it is so forgiving at the same time. I love it and if you own a rescue mid, change your clubs to BS J33 utility..

I was just replying on another thread and thought I should paste the reply here...

Another vote for the J33 hybrid. I have no experience with any others, but these are easy very easy to hit and very forgiving. You can even hit these off the toe and they'll still go straight. Here are some pics of me hitting it off the toe.

If you want to see the swing clip click here. You can see how straight and how far it went. I've just been playing maybe once or twice month and am looking to get better and these are helping me.
