Tee'd off about teeing off

This post relates to Teeing off.... duh?
I would like a drill or swing thought for this problem I have. Please...!

Ok I'm at the tee and I swing my driver solidly and hit a long drive center fairway. Next hole feeling very confident pull driver out again(wide fairway) swing solidly(so I think) and slice it left(I'm a lefty). I feel like I did all things right but the outcome was less than desirable.

I know I am coming over the top because I am swinging to hard, pulling the club inside too much.

I am a good iron player (decent game overall)I think I understand the swing pretty good, but I think my problem is in my head. Am I thinking too much? I feel like I could even swing harder in my head and when I do...bad news! I know I can control a slower swing, but how do I get this medicine in my head? I'm think it could be several things but I narrowed it down to something as easy as vision. I need to visualize targets I need to make my target smaller when I'm at the tee. I figured on the range i'm Tiger... hitting it perfect and how I picture it, but there are lots of targets there. On the course I get "macrogolfvision" (just made up). I have a target but in an area, not specific... I think it will make me a better player, but does it relate to the problem I said earlier?

Do you think my remedy will fix my problem? Do any of you have this problem out there and have advice on how you fixed it?

by the way I shoot in the 80-90 range if you need that info and normally hit the driver 250+ I am a 6'4

Definitely visualize a target and maybe try a little pre-shot waggle....like Mike Wier / Chris DiMarco. Just to get the feeling of coming into the ball from the inside. A problem that I've had in the past was that I would get lazy with my target-vision. I'd pick a target from behind the ball and then I'd get over the ball and would lose touch with that target...meaning I would be aiming down the right side but in my mind the target is on the left side and this would cause me to hit a pull hook....just because my alignment was off.

Take your time with your pre-shot routine...get a solid target and make sure you're setup properly. Then try the waggle....go halfway back and simulate your impact position...then make sure you get back to that same position in your regular swing.

Let me know if it works for you....the waggle helps me gain confidence right before I pull the trigger.

i fight the tendency that if i hit a good drive then on the next hole i try to hit it even harder. this just leads to problems. i just have to think its a new hole, and what i did on the last hole, is in the past. just hit it within yourself. your not tiger, don't try to hit like tiger. maybe your shorter than the people you are playing with, but thats okay, just play your game.

its a good thought for all shots.

Pick a target, the smaller the better. Trust the swing you put through the ball will send it to your target. As you finish the swing and post up try to find your traget, not the ball (let your playing partners track the ball). More often than not this balances my swing and the ball seems to have a better chance of finding my spot. I've really gotten into the process of my preshot routine, seeing the shot in my head, visualizing the ball as it travels to my target, all these things get me focused and relaxed. The process also helps me establish a smooth rythim and a balanced swing. I noticed this first when I had a difficult shot from the trees or was forced to work a ball one way or the other. I seemed to hit these shots with more and more success and I thought to myself what was different with these difficult/improbable shots versus the tee shot or the wedge from the middle of the fairway. Focus. I would get lazy on the easy shots and end up hitting some really sloppy stuff. No more of that, stay with the routine and trust the mind to get your ball on target. HTH
