Tournaments and competitive events in Phoenix?

Looking to play competitively
Hey guys, I've been able to commit some time to my game lately and have been shooting well. I'm down to about a 6 handicap but my last 3 rounds have been 76-75-75 at ocotillo, greyhawk, and the raven respectively, the last 2 I had never played before. I'm feeling really confident as my set-up, routine, and stroke seem to be in stride. I think the next level is to play some competitive events to give me something to focus on, I'd really like to get to a 3 index or lower, and reach my next milestone of posting an under par round.

Anyways, if you guys know of any upcoming events or tourney's, post them here. I'm sure this could be a useful thread to many looking for events in the Phoenix area.

which is just a fun local event.....

The Golf Channel Amateur Tour just had its final major this weekend but will restartup soon....its pretty well run...good guys playing in it...decent competition at a little bit pricey but not bad...about 135$ per tourney.

Pepsi Tour events are for Pro's but they usually have a few Am spots open....but mid 70 scores will be at the very bottom....not intended to discourage though...

Grey Goose Tour events are also occasionally open to Am.s if you have the money....spendy

AGA events are all year long, play some of the best courses in the state with stiff competition....next year I will dedicate myself more to AGA events for sure.

Egolf tour-I have not played in any....most of the courses they play for at least half the year are bottom tier but it is relatively cheap...I am going to sign up and play in at least one of these events just so I can see what it is about.

Sign me up for the Grey Goose event!!! LOL

The AGA site has a big list of various tourneys.

I've been playing the Summer Mid-Am series which has been held on some nice private courses. There is also the Senior Series for those over 55.

Other events around the state include various City amateurs - Phoenix, Mesa, Chandler... etc.

With the exception of the times that I was able to play with other local Golfwrx'ers, most of the guys I usually play with are 20, 25 handicaps at best. Somehow I was able to sustain my level of play for the past couple of years but it's been tough to try to stay motivated to improve without "something" to play for.

I've been thinking about joining a men's club this coming year to establish an official handicap, play in some men's club events, and hopefully have the competitive drive to get better and play in some AGA events the year after.

I'd hate to have gotten older and looked back to regret not have taken this game a little more serious than I did.

Come play with us more often. My game has drastically improved since i started playing with ckguy medicaptain and forelife pretty regularly this year. I also plan on playing the egolf tour as the golf channel one is a bit pricey for me. Also as tjy mentioned next summer i will be playing a bunch of the aga mid am stuff as they played a bunch of high end private courses I cant normally play.
I have to put in a plug for the Men's club at Longbow. This is my third year there. A great group of guys and a fun course to play.
Looks like a solid track to call your home course. But it's a little far for me though, will be moving to south Tempe at the end of this year.

Calvin, Ahwatukee has $20 skins games on Thursdays and $50 skins games on Fri and Sat.

Im actually thinking about dropping my membership at Ahwatukee and moving over to The Raven @ South Mountain. Much better course and facilities, and the monthly dues include cart fees which IMO, is a huge $$$$ saver. They also have a much more active mens club
