510TP vs R5 TP

I have a 8.5 510TP NV prototype stiff and im considering getting an r5 tp from 2ndswing..i have like 400 bux in credit to use so it wont cost me anything...the r5 TP is 8.5 Diamana 83 Stiff...i was wondering if it will be too low for me? they dont have a simulator(this sux!) so i can't really tell...i swing around 115 and i usually hit a high ball with alot of spin. I hit the 510TP pretty high so im thinking the r5 shouldnt be too low.

At 115 the reason your hitting it high with a lot of spin is a weak shaft. At 115 you should definitely be playing an X flex shaft and not a stiff. I would say the the R5 tp with the UST v2 75x or NV 75x would be a great combo in 8.5. That should not be too low a hitting combo but will provide a good spin rate. I say get it and reshaft it with an xtra stiff shaft and youll have yourself a monster combo.

i dont hit the 510 too high...im just saying my swing generates alot of spin..im hitting the TP high yes but it is so low-spin it just carries forever..plus i just read the r5 is a higher launch so im going to probably get it and work with it...if it doesn't work out ill reshaft it as u said...i got a 66g x-flex v2 lying around :stop: thanks cammy

Not only is the R5 higher launching but it also spins more than the 510 TP.
