large or small fairway woods

Do you guys think large or small fairway woods are easier to hit from the fairway. My current 3wood is seems too big and I sometimes have a hard time hitting it off the ground.

i think small more shallow 1's are easier of the deck

in terms of "easiest" of course the smaller heads will be easier. i could do nothing but hit my old trimetal high. but that doesn't make it a great club off the tee or in windy days. find a good compromise.

The best combination of tee and off the deck fairway wood i've ever found is the new Adams RPM Low Profile Tour version.

 

It is based off the "tour 4060" that some people have and are selling. It will have simiar ballflight however it will be hotter and go further.

i would say shallower is easier, but my t-60 is one of the easiest woods i've ever hit off the deck.

I like the shallow's for sure.Great for the fairway, and for off the t, I will tee it up about 1/4 inch.

I play the Callaway BBII 3 wood and its the deepest I've seen..

Stupid easy to get airborn from the fairway and freaky long!

The shallow ones are easier. I tried bigger titanium ones and i could not hit them off of fairways

Shallower is much easier. My G5 was deep and very long off the tee but I was unreliable with it off the deck. I am much better with the V steel even though I gave up some distance off the tee.

- t-60 3 15* - rifle 5.5 tipped 1"

- v-steel 15* - rifle 5.5 tipped 1"

- t-40 tour 19* - rifle 6.0

 

i just prefer the heavier feel of steel in my fairway woods. i'm sure i'm giving up distance but my swing is more consistent.

I find smaller and shallower heads easier to hit off the fairway. On the tee I set it about an inch off the ground. Right now the Cally X is a good combination for both. :)

Shallow is alot easier off the deck but I love my Tour Launcher off the tee. It just seems to me that the shallow woods of today are so hard to tee up right, sometimes i use to just drop it on the ground and not even tee it up. But they do have the advantage from the fairway, and I use my 3 wood from the fairway about once a round, so it's not a big deal (no pun intended) to me. I'd use it more for tee balls on those tight holes.
